Olivier Bizet and François Millard’s masterpiece, Yankee Air Pirates, is the result of over 25 years of collecting and study of USAF uniforms and memorabilia from the Vietnam War era. They approach the subject with an astonishing breath and detail. Volumes I & II are frequently consulted and valued books in my library. I very much look forward to Volume III.

Both volumes contain a wide amount of USAF material from the VN War period. I was able to identify a few patches that had been sitting without a label for many years. The order of battle for various units was also informative and reflected solid research. What concerned me enough to give the two books a three-star rating was the almost obsessive emphasis on party suits, the unofficial clothing worn to social functions. The authors love them and admit to having over 100. However, I do not and wish they had not used them as filler.
