Makes water hot
Marvelous little Kettle. Have had it for several years now. It makes my coffee every morning. Very little cleaning and no maintenance issues. It pours nicely. I love the thermometer built in.

If You Want Flavor, This is The Pour-Over Kettle For You! UPDATED*
I've been wanting this type of kettle for pour-over coffee for a few years, but they seemed to be too expensive ($100+). This Yabano kettle has brought this great design into the very affordable category. The short pour spout type of kettles out there do not allow you the control for a good pour-over extraction. The Yabano style really makes a difference. The temperature control is also a big plus for both different coffees and teas, and is very useful. The only issue I have is there seems to be no warranty period; the user manual mentions nothing in relation to warranty or guarantee. Also, the service contact is a gmail address...I've had the kettle for about a week, and have used it everyday. So far, very good, and highly recommended.Update: I've had the kettle for 8 months and still recommend it, but there are adjustments you need to make for best performance. The temperature readout is not accurate. I've found that a boil starts at about 204 degrees Fahrenheit, so I've found if you want to have the water in the best range for coffee set it to shut of at 200 degrees F. There is a new model with an analog dial thermometer on the top of the lid, this may be more accurate, but from reviews you can't set a temperature, so you would have to watch the thermometer for the desired temp.I have very hard water and my kettle needs cleaning at least every 2 weeks now that the kettle has been well used. I've found that about an inch of undiluted white cleaning vinegar soaking in the bottom for about 15 minutes works better than the recommended diluting with water and boiling. Otherwise, I've had no other issues, and the kettle continues to function properly.

Move Over Keurig
I love the Keurig coffee maker. It makes great coffee as well as other beverages. The pods work great except for one thing and that is the space they take in my cupboard. Also, it seems as if I'm always running to the store to get more pods. When I decided to go back to pour over coffee, this item caught my eye on Amazon. I have been using it for a couple of weeks now and it has turned out to be very nice. I can go back to my regular ground coffee in a can which fits a lot better in my cupboard than the pods do. I can also create a cup of coffee that is as strong or as weak as I want to make it. The unit heats up quickly. The temperature shows as it heats up. The water can be maintained at a desired temperature as well. This is a great device if you like one or two cups of coffee or tea. The dripper funnel moves the hot water through the coffee grounds for a great tasting cup of coffee. The dripper is easy to clean.

Good value for Your Temperature
Teak kettle works really well for heating up water. The pour is good to ok. The exterior doesn't get overly hot when the water is at temperature. Hit the on button, walk away, and it beeps when the water is to temperature. The lack of five stars is due to it being unable to remember a temperature setting and the awkward 'keep warm' function. When you turn it on (press on button until it turns from blue to red) you can increase/decrease temperature. It is auto-set to the highest temp (212F) from which you can decrease. Unfortunately you have to do this temperature change every single time. I would've liked to have it remember a new default or at least the last setting used. The keep warm button does come in handy. After you turn it on ('on' button to red) you can select the warm button. This keeps the water near that target temperature you set after you turned it on. However, the warm button just turns blue and stay blue. So, to turn it on put the 'on' button to red but if you want to keep the water warm you have a red 'on' button and a blue warm button. If you hit the warm button without hitting the power button to red the warm button turns blue but then turns off since, without it first being on, it doesn't do anything. A huge issue? No. Weird user interaction? I think so.When plugged in but not being used the power button pulses blue; it turns blue, then fades to no color, then fades to blue, etc. Not sure the point; a reminder it is plugged in? I'd rather it not be lit at all if I'm not actively using it. No stars lost for that as some may desire such a reminder.

I would totally get a second kettle now, as a backup for down the road
Honestly, I'm fearful I may accidentally snap the gooseneck on this thing, but I'm generally careful with my "toys". It's my family I worry about, but I digress.Overall, I really love the simplicity of the design. It's elegant, and the construction, aside from the gooseneck is solid. I feel like there should be a version of this that has the classic neck you find on many tea pots, but I would still want this, as well.I like the temp control, and it shuts off after hitting the target temp. The controls are mostly intuitive and nicely laid out. I still need to better understand the "keep warm" function, but that's not really an issue right now.For a brand I've never heard of, I've been really pleased with the performance of this kettle. Perhaps the only sticking point is getting the lid on and off, but the tightness can be manually adjusted to suit you.
