Solid, Sharp, and Powerful — Great Value for Heavy-Duty Chopping!
This Juvale meat cleaver is a beast in the kitchen! The build quality is solid, and the blade is sharp and thick, making it perfect for chopping through meat, poultry, and even small bones with ease. It feels durable and well-made, especially for the price — definitely great value for money. It is a bit on the heavier side, but that actually helps with the chopping power. Just takes a little getting used to if you don’t typically use heavy knives. The wooden handle offers a firm grip, and overall, it feels like a professional tool at a budget-friendly price. If you’re looking for a strong, effective cleaver that gets the job done, this one won’t disappoint!

Very impressive, BUT
For the price, this is a very impressive cleaver. Well made, definitely heavy duty, very large and heavy. I think that if my husband saw me using this to whack away at poultry bones, he would have a heart attack or flea our home! But, seriously, this was more than I needed and a bit intimidating. So, I am returning for something smaller. But, again, it was very well made and a great value.

Great Value! (Clean the hole!!!!!)
Before getting into the review, make sure you THOROUGHLY wash the machine grease out of the hole in the blade before using it on any food. The hole has machine grease caked in it and that stuff is hazardous to your body. DON’T USE THE SPONGE YOU USE FOR YOUR REGULAR DISHES ON CHEMICALS LIKE THIS. This grease is normal for any knife so don’t take this advice as a knock on this knife. That being said, this knife is an AMAZING value. I bought it in late summer (Sept 12) 2022 for about $18. They were sold out and offered a refund but I decided to wait until they restocked. I’m really glad I did! When the knife arrived on in mid-autumn (November), I wasn’t sure what to expect.Right out of the box this thing is sharp. It’s not a razor blade but it cuts tomatoes without squishing them so it’s good enough for its intended use. It arrived covered in lubricant to protect it from corrosion while in storage and shipping which worked well. Not a blemish on this thing. It looks just like the pictures. The craftsmanship is great. It’s sturdy and has a nice large handle. I wear XL gloves and the handle fit nicely into my grip. If you have smaller hands the grip may be a little bulky but my wife used it without issue (to hack open a young coconut). The handle is made out of wood with 3 pins through it that resemble screws. They’re not easy to remove and I don’t want to mess with it now but eventually it might be a fun project to make a custom handle for this knife. One small note on the handle. It looks like the blade had blue protective plastic wrap Before the handle was attached and some of the blue wrapper is still visible under the edge of the handle. That perfectly fine to me but some might want to know. All in all, excellent knife for the price. 10/10

Great Knife for a great price
For the price, this cleaver can not be beat. It is a bone splitting machine. It is on the heavy side, easy of use might me tough for some. You will need to have some arm strength to use this for an extended period of time. It came plenty sharp and needed no sharpening out of the package. For the price and weight i think it is very well balanced. Functionality is works perfect. I didn't give it 5 stars because on the wood handle. It is a little rough around the edges. But that being said I would totally buy this knife again.

Chopper
I like having this in my kitchen, it comes out when I have anything that my knife can’t handle. It has a little weigh to it, but definitely gets the job done. It is sharp, good grip, durable and easy to use.

Great for Green Coconuts
Used it to cut open a green coconut. Worked great! I was also able to crack it open to drink out of it by stabbing the coconut with the sharp edge of the knife. The knife is super solid and didn't bend or anything.

People who leave poor reviews for this dont understand how cleavers work.
This is a great cleaver, especially at this price point. If you left a bad review for handle related problems, that is understandable, but the wood handle is a natural product, and they sometimes have flaws. If you left a bad review because the blade isnt as sharp as a normal kitchen knife, because it is heavy, because it is unbalanced, or because the blade steel isnt super hard, you dont know how to use a cleaver, or what it is used for. A cleaver is a hacking/chopping tool, not a slicing tool like a normal kitchen knife. Dont think of a cleaver like a knife, it is not a knife, think of it as a specialized kitchen axe.An axe/cleaver is meant to be swung and impact, this means it needs to have weight and forward balance, it needs to have a steep durable edge angle (not a shallow slicing angle), and it needs to be made of relative soft steel compared to a pure slicing tool, so that when pushed to the edge it will bend and deform, rather than shatter and send sharp pieces flying everywhere. This cleaver is a perfect tool for what it was designed to do.If are looking for a sharp, light, slicing knife that that is in the general shape of a cleaver, but not used for hacking through heavy bones. search for a Chinese chef knife or a vegetable cleaver, as that is what those types of knives are commonly called.
