Keeping My Carpet Beautiful After Ten Years
I love the Soniclean Soft Carpet Upright Vacuum Cleaner!!!! We recently purchased a second one, which we will keep in the lower level of our house. We purchased our first Soniclean, when we got Mohawk Smartstrand carpet. That was 10 years ago, and it is still running ( noteworthy, in today's appliances which break months or a few years after purchase). The Soniclean vacuum is light weight and easy to use, has never needed a belt or repair, cleans the carpet beautifully without damaging the carpet, and is still doing a fantastic job! Professional carpet cleaners could not believe the age of our carpet, which looks brand new after years of wear. I credit our Soniclean vacuum cleaner, a great partner to soft carpet. Over the years, I have had questions about the vacuum, and customer service has always been friendly and excellent. Soniclean is our vacuum of choice!!! I highly recommend it !

No Other Vacuum For Me
My husband bought the Soniclean S200 upright vacuum many years ago at a specialty vacuum store. I’d purchased a canister vacuum at Costco but didn’t care for it. Then my husband decided he should get to pick out the vacuum since he’d started helping with the weekly cleaning. His help vacuuming was short-lived, but it turned out to be the best thing he’s ever gotten me in 35 years of marriage. This vacuum has been an absolute work horse for me. I was pretty hard on it for well over a decade and it was my best friend while we lived in our home during a major remodel. The only reason I let go of this vacuum is that the rubber on the wheels had worn down. I ordered replacement wheels, but unfortunately my husband was not able to successfully replace them, and the vacuum couldn’t be put back together. I was more than slightly bummed to lose my trusty, durable vacuum. I am not exaggerating when I say the strong suction of this vacuum never faltered and was as strong at the end as the day he brought it home. After having such a dependable, efficient vacuum for all these years, there was no way I could settle for anything less than another Soniclean upright. I had to use my backup Oreck vacuum while waiting for my new Soniclean SFC-7000 to arrive, and it simply does not compare. Vacuuming took 3x longer because I had to go over the same areas so many times. I also cannot sing enough praises about Soniclean’s extraordinary Customer Support! They were quick, responsive and helpful every step of the way, including generously offering to refund the cost of the wheels I’d ordered that didn’t work out as planned. My new Soniclean is just what I expected and has all the features I loved about my old one – the exceptionally strong suction, the jam protection feature, the HEPA filter bags and fragrance pods, but it’s also lighter and easier to maneuver than my old model. I couldn’t be happier and, frankly, I’m all set for Christmas at this point – nothing else needed.

MADE RAGGEDY RUGS LOOK LIKE NEW! Good for Shaw Cashmere Classic IV
After visiting multiple big box stores with the typical “top of the line” vacuums, we were sorely disappointed to find that they could not recommend us a vacuum and none of what they had were appropriate for the new carpet in our house. We installed Shaw Cashmere Classic IV which is 100% nylon, has a long pile and is very dense at nearly 100FW. I was tired of reading and hearing horror stories about sharks and dysons destroying carpet and rugs. We looked up the list of vacuums that were approved by Shawn’s warranty and this one came up on the list. I almost didn’t buy it because of vanity; I didn’t think it was the prettiest thing and it reminded me of the 90’s vacuums, but I’m so glad I bought it anyway. It is even better looking in person, it’s really light weight and it glides across my carpet like cutting through softened butter! I even use it on some really neglected polyester rugs which are looking like new! They looked very nappy, I’d been vacuuming them with a nearly $1000 Dyson for the past year and I was thinking about throwing them out because they became such an eyesore, but this fixed them up and they’re so soft and beautiful again! I really wish I thought to take “before” pictures of the rugs. I’ve come to really love this vacuum!

Perfect Solution for High Pile Soft Carpets
After having new carpet installed, we went with the suggestion from the Mohawk Carpet information sheet and purchased this most excellent vacuum and received just yesterday. After quickly unpacking, I noticed how beautifully elegant it looked with the black/gold colors. I wasted no time in running it through the 1st floor of the house. From high pile carpet, to tile, to throw rugs which usually quickly get sucked into the vacuum, this product rose to the occasion for all our needs. I love the two speeds going from the floor to carpet and kept transitioning as I needed. Not to mention - the cord at 35' long - takes me a long way w/out having to unplug and plug in again! I was very happy with the suction power and although I was against a bagged vacuum will grow to love it and also included was a fragrance disc which I will reorder more. It's a bit awkward on the stairs because it's base is larger than the stairs, and there is where I wish there were attachments that came with the product. Yes I realize for a $100 more I could have purchased but was not willing to do so. I do wish for the price, we received extra bags but will order those in the near future. We are very happy with the performance and light weight product that did an excellent job!

Only affordable solution for deep pile carpets - Wife is happy!
We moved into a new house about a year ago. Both the living room and dinning room had beautiful deep pile carpet. Our “tried and true” Oreck did the best it could plowing through the thick pile until we started to smell burning motor! Our only other option was to use the central vac system that came with the house. Talk about a royal PITA! My wife hit max frustration levels over the holidays trying to keep up with the vacuuming. As any good husband that knows - her frustration will flow down hill, so I set out to solve this issue once and for all. After massive amounts of on-line research I finally wound up at the Soniclean website. Another couple of hours researching customer reviews and I thought, what the heck - $400 is cheap if I can make her happy. I wound up ordering the vacuum from Soniclean’s Amazon store since it was the exact same price as on their website and I could get it delivered in 4 days. The vacuum actually arrived a day early! The assembly was completed in less than 5 minutes (super simple). It’s a great looking unit and kind of reminds me of a fancy sports car. But I digress - and off on its maiden voyage it went. I was keenly focused on my wife’s face as she pushed the vacuum across the deep pile carpet. The smile on her face was truly a sight to be seen. The vacuum did a great job and without the struggle of either the Oreck or the central vac. She is 100% happy with the usability and the performance of the new vac. So I’m a hero, at least for the next day or two, and very happy to have solved this problem. The vacuum bags aren’t cheap, approx. $6.00 per bag, so we’ll have to see how that works out long term. And, as with all appliances like this, reliability is key and that will have to be evaluated over time. For now, we are BOTH very happy with the purchase and would recommend it to anyone fighting with deep pile carpets - it will truly change your vacuuming experience.

Great purchase for soft carpets and people who have shedding dogs
I almost never write reviews, but because I am so happy with how this vacuum worked on my carpet, I thought I'd mention a few things that didn't get said in other reviews that I'd read. I recently had very soft dense carpet installed in my home. When I went to use my usual vacuum, it was very hard to push through this new carpet, it was actually more of a workout. Thinking I only needed a vacuum that had more adjustable settings, I set out looking at different vacuums cleaners. After reading several reviews, one mentioned that if you have soft carpet you needed to purchase a Soniclean Soft Carpet Vacuum Cleaner. So I read the reviews on the Soniclean and decided to make the purchase. I'm so glad I did! I have a Husky that sheds and leaves hair anywhere she pretty much walks. This vacuum had no problem picking up the hair on the carpet. I also have a big area rug in the middle of my family room that is maroon in color and shows every bit of her hair. After using this vacuum, there was no hair visible on it either! It actually sucked up the hair much better then my old vacuum that would suck up most of the hair, but I'd have to go over it several times to get it all picked up. The Soniclean did it on the first pass. It states in the instructions about opening the vents on the front of vacuum to help the vacuum roll easier on your carpet, I did not need to do this at all, which does give it better suction. I'm glad the vacuum comes with one bag already installed which was nice so I can decide if I want to buy them which I probably will because of all the dog hair. It also comes with one of the fragrance pods. I did put that in and although it smelled fine, I only noticed the smell while I was actually vacuuming, not after, so I doubt I will be purchasing those. Another thing I noticed was with my other vacuum cleaners, dust and hair would actually accumulate on the front/top part of the vacuum while I vacuumed. When I saw the head of the Soniclean vacuum was black, I almost groaned thinking how dusty this would look after my first vacuum, but it actually didn't accumulate any dust or hair on the head part of the vacuum. Not sure why, but I'm not going to complain. I also checked the roller underneath after vacuuming and there was no hair caught around that either. I did have some issues with my other vacuum doing that, not much, but it did. The other thing I really like was how long the cord was. My family room is really good size and I could actually vacuum the whole room without moving the cord to another plug in. I know it's hard to spend $300.00 on a vacuum cleaner, but I feel like the expense was worth it as long as the vacuum holds up. If there are any changes in the next few months with this vacuum, I will come back and revise my review.

Beware! Terrible Customer Service & Vacuum!!!
Since I just recently carpeted my entire apartment with 1" shag carpeting, I was looking for a highly rated vacuum. I had in fact, also purchased Soniclean Bags, but mistakenly for a different model. The bags cost $60. I bought the Soniclean vacuum at a "discount" for $279. (Used in "Very Good" Condition...Amazon Warehouse) I liked that the vacuum was "lightweight" at only 10lbs. When I asked the Soniclean Rep if I could exchange my bags for the correct bags, I was told the bags were "EXPIRED"! (Since when do vacuum bags expire? And if so, why is there is no expiration date stamped on the box?) I purchased a nearly $300 vacuum and they couldn't even spare a 50% refund? HUH? Not good customer service! Next I was told that this vacuum DOES NOT WORK ON SHAGS and to return the vacuum ASAP! It was really BIZARRE. The vacuum did in fact did work OK on my shags and even smelled good because of the Fresh Pods. I guess on the so-called "Soft Carpets" it would work better...MAYBE? But it had several downsides: 1) It is EXTREMELY NOISY!!! 2) It is MADE IN CHINA! I found that almost ALL modern vacs are Made in China, but not all cost $400!!! Why so pricey? 3) It is made TOTALLY of FLIMSY PLASTIC. Sure, It is a light machine but looks like it will DEFINITELY break down, jam or crack if it sucks up something "wrong". I could not find any solid metal components. After speaking to MANY, MANY vacuum REPAIRPEOPLE, they recommended 3 very solid brands: TITAN (Made in The USA), TITAN & MIELE (Made in GERMANY.) All close in price to The Soniclean. (THE BEST is RICCAR but VERY pricey.) I ended up with a very solid canister Miele (Made in Germany) for $350!!! It is quiet, lightweight and adjusts to ALL types of flooring--including STAIRS and CURTAINS! I supposed if your entire home is "Soniclean" carpeted, then go ahead and splurge...but if you want a vacuum that does more than 1 thing and 1 thing ONLY...get this vac. Nevertheless, Soniclean is OVERPRICED for $400! They need to sell this piece of plastic for under $200 or if not give some consideration to customers if they want to exchange for the proper vacuum bags. They lost me as a valued customer for a measley $30!!! Not good! : ( Save yourself a headache and get a LESS NOISY & MORE SOLID machine for a LOWER PRICE! : )

Perfect for soft, plush carpets AND good for bare floors.
My first impressions are very good of this vacuum cleaner. I even thought it even looked a bit sexy with the black and gold, then I remembered - it's a vacuum cleaner, not my favorite thing. I've seen a lot of people asking questions about this vacuum cleaner and will try to answer some here. I bought this particular vacuum mainly because it states it is designed for soft carpet. We moved from a house with hardwoods throughout, into a house with very soft, plush carpet as well as laminate and tile. I soon burned up my faithful 20 year old Kenmore canister vac with beater bar attachement. While looking for a replacement and seeing that other people were having the same trouble I had with my old vacuum not wanting to pull through the carpet, I realized that I had essentially killed my old vacuum by insisting it work beyond it's limits, and that I needed a different type of machine. This Soniclean Soft Carpet cleaner caught my eye. It is recommended by a couple fine soft carpet makers and it wasn't sky high expensive like some. It came well packed in the retail box. The use instruction booklet is pretty straightforward. The only assembly was attaching the upper handle and cord hook to the machine. An allen wrench is included. The cord is long and doesn't retract, just winds around the two hooks on the handle. I noticed that the cord and plug did not get warm while in use. I good sign. The included replaceable paper HEPA bag was already in place. ( I bought extra bags that are sold separately on Amazon as I'm not sure I can find them in my small town. It was $25 for eight bags.) The vacuum cleaner came with one scent pod which is filled with liquid and goes just inside the outer zipper bag in a special holder. Pull the silver seal tab and snap in place. I was skeptical of the pod because I am sensitive to a lot of fragrances, especially those like the plug in room deodorizers, but I thought I'd give it a try so I could include it in the review. It is a very fresh scent, slightly floral, but not overpowering at all. I only sneezed once while vacuuming the house, so that good for me. If you are sensitive you can leave out the pod. It doesn't affect the performance either way. It is very lightweight for a full size upright. They have used a heavy cloth with nice zipper instead of rigid plastic for the bag compartment and left off the auto cord rewinder. Those things add a lot of weight. The paper inner HEPA bag is also lighter than those messy plastic cups you have to empty, and is much cleaner to handle and dispose of. This cleaner self-adjusts to hard floor and carpets of different heights and seems to do a good job. It has a little foot button on the back of the head to lower the handle. Much better than some new ones I've seen where you just jerk it in and out of position. This handle will go all the way to the floor if needed. The front of the head is approx. 2 inches high, the back is 4 1/2" high. It's 14" wide at the front including a small rubber bumper. The overall height to the tip of the handle is 44". It is a little loud, especially on "carpet" mode. It isn't a high pitched squeal at least, like my old dying canister (should have been a warning), but I always use earplugs anyway so not a big deal for me. This vacuum does NOT have a hose and therefore no accessory tools. I may miss the tools that my old canister had, but I'll work around it with a hand vac. There are 2 air vents on the bottom front. Fully open is for the softest plush carpet that drags down most machines. Fully closed is for bare floors. You can open, fully close, or half close either or both to adjust suction and drag. I found that closing one halfway was perfect for my carpet. I also found that you don't have to reach down and close them for bare floors. It seemed to have plenty of suction at the setting for my carpet. It may lose a little suction as the bag fills, but so far it's great. It did a good job of cleaning and I didn't feel like it was struggling at all. I noticed the nap was standing up nicely after vacuuming, much better than with my old vacuum. It is fairly easy to push and pull. It does leave faint lines in the carpet, but those never bother me. It actually helps to see where I have been. The head has little brushes on the side front that help with edges. It seemed to do a good job around the baseboards. It has two speeds. First for "carpet/bare floors", second for "carpet". That sounds confusing, but it just means the beater bar that vibrates and helps on thick carpet will not be vibrating on the first speed. (The roller brush turns on both speeds). You don't want the beater bar on while doing bare floors and it's not necessary for low pile mats. Speaking of mats, I don't recommend using it on small lightweight rugs because it will suck them up and jam the machine. (guess how I learned that) If, however, the area rug or runner is big and fairly heavy, if you go at it on an angle instead of straight on, it won't pick up the edge so easily. I was very happy to note that the Soniclean didn't scratch my hard floors (tile and laminate) like my old canister vac's beater bar attachment did which caused me to have to change heads mid cleaning. The second, higher setting, "carpet" turns on the beater bar for thicker, softer carpets. The rocker type switch takes a little getting used to. I kept turning it off instead of just turning it down. There is a blue light on the front of the machine that pulses when the vibrator bar is turned on. I suppose to remind you to turn it off if you change to hard floors. It does not have a regular light though. It took less time to vacuum my house with the new cleaner (yay!) since I didn't have to switch attachments from carpet to bare floors. The whole house had a nice, light, clean smell from the scent pod. My carpets look better than ever and my bare floors are clean and unscratched. A very nice replacement for the vacuum cleaner I killed. I'll let you know if I still love it in a few months.
