Takes some doing but saves me beauoup dollars! Well worth the time and effort.
Oh happy day! Why? Because I'm never paying $200-400 to get my hair done ever ever again. Ever.I don't have any "before" pics, and really if I did, they'd be pointless. My hair's been processed to hell and back for years. I was born with 3a,3b,and 3c-type curls all over my head at once. Soft curls at the front, tighter squiggles in the back, shrubby underneath. It's finely textured but there's a lot of it, giving the illusion that it's thick. I began doing Brazilian Blow Outs five years ago when I moved from the cool northeast to Southern Louisiana - home of the sort of humidity they write books about. New Orleans is a great city, but it's a total hair nightmare nine months of the year. Brazilian blow outs changed my life but they left me chained to a very expensive hair routine. Although an involved, lengthy procedure, the blow outs didn't seem *hard* and I often wondered whether I could do them at home. TURNS OUT I CAN!I was worried about messing it up terribly so I enlisted my husband to help with the back."Hey honey, can you help me with my hair tomorrow? I'm gonna do the keratin at home.""The what? Well, okay, sure.""We'll need to do it outside.""Whatever.""And we should have a fan.""Mmmmhmmm.""For the burning and the runny eyes.""Sure...wait - what? Burning? What is this stuff?"After calming him down and assuring him it was perfectly safe (the jury is still out on that, though) we set up shop in the yard with a mirror, a fan, a blow dryer, a tail comb, a dye brush, a plastic straightening comb and my trusty Babyliss Nano Titanium 1.75" iron (git you one o'these because they are amazing). The clarifying shampoo might make you nervous because all signs of life and health WILL be sucked out of your hair as if by vacuum. Worry not. This is normal.Application was simple, but I do think he used too much. Aim for saturating each and every hair, but not for making your whole head drippy-wet with the stuff. Apply it in small sections, comb it through with the tail comb, and whatever comes off the comb, wipe it off. No need to completely panic if you over apply: in the end, over-applying only made Day 1 & 2 gummy and strange. Past that it was fine. You're going to want to be in a VERY well ventilated area during the blow dry/flat ironing stage. Even outdoors with a fan it was hard on the eyes and mucus membranes. If you HAVE to do this in an apartment, I suggest doing it in a room other than the bathroom because unless you have an exhaust fan it just might be the last act of your life. Set yourself up someplace where you can open a real window. If you've enlisted the help of a partner, you may have to endure listening to "OHMIGOD WHAT IS THAT SMELL?" and "There is no way that's okay. Please think of your brain cells." and "No, seriously, stop this now or I'm going inside." for however long it takes to dry your hair. The ironing was easy - I used large, wide clips to section parts off, then used the straightening comb to comb through and "hold" sections of the sections (very small sections, mind you; my sections were thin, but wide, because my iron is wide. Make section width based on whatever flatiron you have, but make 'em thin.). At first I thought the comb was unnecessary, but when you're passing a 400F iron over a small section of hair 7-9 times? It's HOT and you do not want to be guiding that hair through the iron with your hand. Buy a spring-loaded straightening comb. Worth the $5. This was stinky, eye-watering business. The fan helped. Ironing the product in was very simple with a mirror. My husband stuck around (ten feet away) but I didn't need help by that point, anyhow. The finished product this first go-round was verrrry disappointing at first. Very gummy, not slick and smooth. Very coated-feeling. I attribute this to over-application. My husband noticed, too. He kept apologizing and said "That is NOT how you look when you come home from that salon.". But after two more days of light ironing before going out - presto: it was perfect. I washed & conditioned it with the stuff that came in the box a week later and it dried super quick and ironed like a breeze. It's got great body, too.I would recommend this product to anyone who has already experienced a professional keratin/Brazilian Blow Out treatment at some point. At least that way you'll know how your hair will behave and you'll have an idea of what to expect. Anyone going into this expecting to have pin-straight hair after washing without having to either blow-dry, flat iron or both should turn right around and buy a traditional straightening product. That's not what this is. You still have to put some work into getting your hair straight, just *a lot* less work than without the treatment at all. This stuff will knock out frizz and leave your hair smooth and silky. It will loosen curls considerably for the first couple of weeks, but as the products wears off, your curls will return.TLDR: Even with our mistake of over-applying I'll still likely get two more applications out of this $79 bottle. Three trips to the salon for the same treatment would cost between $600-800. Absolutely worth a few hours of my time and effort, and worth a little eye-burning. ;)

game changer
I just did this treatment a few days ago and washed it out last night. I can't say how good this product is long term because this is my first time using it but I am soooo happy with how it worked. It is crazy how straight it made my hair!! There is still a bit of wave but it changed my hair soooo much. For the better! It is so cheap for how much you get as well. I think I could get two or more treatments out of it and I will continue to be buying to (forever maybe). My hair is 1000 times more manageable. I totally recommend this to anyone else who has curly frizzy hair that wants it more manageable too. When you are blow dryer your hair with the product in it, it is really hard to breathe and will burn your eyes and throat at points. That sucks. But for me, it was worth it!

Wash, dry and go for the first time of my life!
HOLY CRAP. LIFE CHANGED.I was skeptical that this would do anything for my hair since nothing I have ever tried ever did. I've tried chemical relaxers when I was younger and all they did my was burn my hair and make it feel like straw and turn it into a bigger, frizzier poofier mess than before and this made me reluctant to go to the salon and try the newer straightening processes, that and the expensive price tag. So, I gave up and just stuck to flat ironing my hair almost everyday. I have caucasian wavy hair that can curl at the ends and in the shorter areas if I let it air dry and don't brush it out, but if I do brush it out it will "straighten" but it's too frizzy and poofy and doesn't look great. I can't blow dry my hair straight either (not even with a round brush, or a flat brush or product in or that special flat blow dryer attachment that concentrates the heat), my hair is so fine that it just causes it get super poofy. I've tried hot rollers, putting in plastic and velcro rollers while it's wet so it'll dry "straightened out" and I've tried what feels like every single shampoo, conditioner or special product (yes, even some with keratin) that promise smoother strands and less frizz and poof.My entire life I have envied women that can wash their hair and let it air dry and go and now I finally know what that feels like.I did this treatment before a trip I'm taking to Mexico in a few days as a last bid to help fight the tropical humidity (I live in New Orleans, so tropical humidity is actually something I deal with regularly as well) and make my hair more manageable. I did the treatment on Sunday. It took about five hours. I used the clarifying shampoo and washed my hair with it three times in a row. The treatment smelled very bad and burned my eyes. Definitely ventilate. This would be my one complaint about the product, the fact that it has formaldehyde. But, next time I will try to formaldehyde free version after my current bottle runs out (I still have a lot left). I wish I would have trimmed my split ends off before the treatment but they actually look fine post treatment. The combing the product through the hair took a long time since fine-toothed combs are typically no match for my thick poofy unruly hair. Needless to say, a lot of my hair got ripped out because of the comb. I switched to a Tangle Easer brush instead and that was MUCH better. I didn't blow dry my hair, I just let it air dry both times. I went over every strand of my hair with my flat iron set to 450 about three to five times, more times over the back sections because they are thicker. I kept having to stop and get fresh air outside because of the fumes though, my apartment is very small. Open a window if you can and get a box fan or something. After I was done with everything my hair felt disgusting and greasy and kind of limp but I stuck it out and left it on for a little over two days rather than just overnight. I also didn't have a problem with pulling my hair back or pinning it causing it to crimp, but they may depend on the hair type of the person using the treatment. My hair did stay super straight though and was probably the straightest I've ever seen it.I washed my hair last night using the included shampoo and conditioner and was very skeptical....but my hair felt super soft even while wet and my brush went through my hair so easily I was stunned. There were hardly any tangles. I let my hair air dry and to my amazement it started drying straight and it still felt incredibly soft! After my entire head of hair completely air dried there was a tiny bit of wave on one area still, but I didn't want pin straight hair anyway so I don't mind at all.I still can't believe this. Keratin treatments where have you been my whole life!?Now, the true test will be next week when I fly to Mexico for vacation. I know that I can't get my hair wet with any chlorinated water or salt water because this can make the treatment completely wear off which kind of sucks, but I will do my best to tie my hair up and stay out of the water as much as possible (which I always did before the treatment anyway because chlorine and salt are awful for your hair) but if I do get into the water I will make sure to wet my hair with clean water before and maybe put in some leave in conditioner to protect my strands first and continue to wash with sulfate free shampoo and conditioner and I will see.TRY THIS PRODUCT!

Worked, but for a couple of hair washes only.
I liked how straight my hair looked after the treatment and I hated it how quickly it is loosing the effects. Its been a month I had this product applied. This picture taken is just couple of days ago, I had to blow dry and I used fiber for hold and volume, because my hair type is not too curly. Anybody who has seen my natural hair, questions my this straightening treatment decision. So this treatment made my hair too flat for my likings, but somewhere I enjoyed it too. Naturally my hair have good volume. I followed every possible step to make it work for longer (i kept it for 3 days without water, exercising and bending. I didn't used hot water for shampooing. I used the shampoo and conditioner came with it as well) but still it barely worked for a month. Don't get me wrong, it is still smooth and manageable than my natural hair. But just consider it washing just 6-9 times a month made it washed off already. Taking that much precautions for this is not worth according to me. I haven't used a lot other products, so I won't know what to expect. I saw the reviews and bought it. I hope this review helps. It is 100% unbiased. Good luck 🤞
