This counter works very well for the price. Instructions are a tad vague. I would highly recommend it. I am using it for general Ham radio work and wanted it as accurate as possible. I have access to a frequency standard so I ran it through a quick calibration to a NIST standard it's been spot on since. I let it warm up for a couple of hours and it took 30 seconds to adjust! My experience since then is, once it's warmed up, its very stable. Mine was off about 100Hz at 10mHz. I would suggest an initial calibration/verification if you plan to set up transmitters for example. I remember my first counter cost a lot more and didn't have the accuracy this unit has. With the improved counter accuracy, I now see my signal generator needs an upgrade as it's not as stable as I would like.

Good but Quirky
It works pretty good but a little flakey at the crossover area between 40 MHz and 60 MHz frequencies where it often picked up the harmonics of the primary signal. Did not like the power switch in back of the unit. Not handy to get at when sitting on a shelf. Also having to remember the function setting (actually the range setting) number you need to be on is annoying especially as 1 is high frequencies and 3 is low frequencies. However for the price you get a counter that is handy once you know its limitations and quirks.

Fairly priced entry level frequency counter
Works very well with my AN/URM-25D signal generator for alignment of radios. I ordered the Victor VC3165 from Electronnix but got the TekPower TP3165 instead. No biggie, it's exactly the same counter. As another reviewer stated this counter is also rebranded as a Velleman DVM13MFC2 (if it's German it must be better, LOL). This frequency counter is actually branded under a couple of other names, too. The best operating instructions are for the Velleman meter and may be downloaded free online. Good value for the price. Look at the specs before buying to make sure this meter is a good match for the job you want it to do.

Nice cheap RF frequency Counter
I needed a modern RF frequency counter to use when I working on vintage tube, and early transistorized radios. For this you do not need a laboratory grade instrument. Having said this the VC3165 is still much better then most anything that would have been contemporary to the radios I am working on. If you need a counter to check on the oscillator frequencies of something like the output from the FM tuner on a Zenith Transoceanic Royal 3000-1 this counter will do the job. To get anything better you will have to spend several hundred dollars, and it wouldn't do any better job.

Two Stars
Unit is to slow and not enough resolution. Looking to get rid of it

Not recommended for Ham Radio use
Puts out over 400mv of RF hash on the 0.01Hz to 50MHz "A" jack that interferes with your measurement at lo level RF frequencies. Not acceptable for Ham HF use.

Great Frequency Counter for the Price
Great device for an amazing price. I had an old HP counter that stopped working and this is the replacement. It works well with adequate sensitivity. Accuracy and stability, after warm-up, seems to be spot on. The only negative comment is that its user interface is a bit "busy". You have to know which mode works with which frequency range with which inputs. Also, the supplied probe doesn't work very well. It seems to provide less sensitivity and noise immunity. I use an old Tektronix oscilloscope probe which works well.

UNSTABLE COUNTER
WOULD NOT STABILIZE ON THE TRANSMITTED FREQUENCY EVEN WHEN MOVED TO AN ADJACENT ROOM
