Works Perfectly to Prevent Backflow!
I purchased the Camco RV Water Heater Backflow Preventer to address my issue with city water filling my freshwater tank in my RV, and it worked like a charm! I installed it on the suction side of the pump, and it completely resolved the problem. The installation was straightforward, and the product feels solid and well-made. It’s a must-have for any RV owner looking to prevent backflow issues. Highly recommended!

Fix your backfill problem
Pump backfilled the fresh water tank. Thought I needed a new pump, but this was a much cheaper fix. 10/10 would recommend if you have this problem.

Threads are very tight and rough. Should have been factory burnished.
Be aware the thread quality on these is very tight and rough and should have been burnished by the factory. When screwing into our ABS trailer water pump, the starter threads on these are so tight that it has a tendency to cross thread. I had to file and burnish the first few threads so it would properly receive the female threads to the water pump. Other than that, it works very well to keep water from backflowing into the trailer tank when using a city water hose hookup.

worked great on my water pump.
I was having issues with the water pump on my camp trailer cycling on about every 15-20 minutes. I thought possibly I had a leak, but could never find it. I installed this backflow preventer on the inlet to the pump and the problem went away. The issue turns out to be the pump itself bleeding down. I haven't had an issue since installing the check valve. The quality of material is very good.

put it BEFORE the water pump!
while it says it's for a water heater, i got it to go on a seaflo 55-series water pump while i was swapping everything out since it doesn't seem like the seaflo pumps have built-in check valves.just yeah definitely put it on BEFORE the pump on the vacuum side. seems weird, but you'll get weird cycling and pressure issues if you put it after. my pressure was a full 5 psi higher than it should've been and the pump didn't want to turn off completely until i moved it. lesson learned!

check your fittings before buying
I needed two male ends to replace my part. This has one male one female end. Now I need to find a coupling.
