Best of the real world, but the epitomy of thought leadership in SCM
Really enjoyed the readability of the book and that it is packed with many figures and illustrations. Deborah and John are making the best of their retreats that they are having across the world and have built amazing insights into Transforming Supply Chains. They are sharing their perspectives at these workshops and testing their finding and ideas with players across industries and geographies. They have not hesitated to get into challenging subjects such as 4IR and again they are sharing great content.

“All truths are easy to understand once they are discovered; the point is to discover them."
John Gattorna’s Dynamic Alignment framework exquisitely brings the above quote by Galileo Galilei to life. In their book “Transforming Supply Chains” John Gattorna and Deb Ellis takes the reader on a clear and compelling thought journey that leads to powerful models that can and should be applied by any supply chain centric business. One is left with an eagerness to immediately get back to the office and start transforming!

It's this customer-centered approach to transformation that's the fundamental insight (and it's backed up by case studies and decades of research). No matter your industry, after reading this book you'll have the tools to get started with your own customized plan for putting the new digital technologies and people-centered approaches to work for you.

SC Transformation
If you want to learn about Digital Strategies (AI, IoT, Blockchain etc.) then buy this book. If you want some practical Case Studies then buy this book. If you want to understand what external factors are "impacting" the SC' then buy this book. This was a very easy read, to the point and inspirational for me as I used some of the ideas to reflect upon and then develop my own roadmap in my company to drive SC Transformation to enable SC 4.0.

One size does not fit all
The authors provide a logically structured and well written argument for designing your supply chain from the outside in. Understand and segment your clients into archetypes then tailor the service and the people resources needed to support this client archetype the way they prefer to be supported. This dynamic approach espouses a customer centric supply chain design at its heart.

Good, interesting, and accessible
A good book. Accessible, concise, and informative. Does require some existing knowledge of supply chain management. But, recommended.
