TSA-Approved Lock

I have the NANUK 935, bought to carry my camera equipment. I use the NANUK TSA Approved Lock for this case. I have traveled and carried this case with me where ever I travel and am totally impressed with this case and the locks. The locks are ingenious and durable beyond description. They are easy to use and I have no doubt that these locks would make it very hard for someone to break into my case. I am totally impressed with this product and would buy them again if needed in the future.

I ordered this lock to go with the Nanuk 935 case I purchased. The lock works great! The red silicone strap that attaches the lug to the lock though has been lost by baggage handlers. I contacted Nanuk to see about purchasing some replacements. They had me open a warranty ticket, and they sent me 3 replacements, free of charge. Unfortunately baggage handlers lost another one not 2 weeks after I got my replacements, so it goes in my backpack when I check my case in. I may have to look in to locking latches, but then I would have to carry a key around. I guess I have to pick my poison.

Bought this lock for my Pelican Air 1615 Case and it was a perfect fit! If you have a similar style case like the 1615 don't hesitate to buy this lock.

The lock feels solid, holds tight, is easy to reset, and perfectly fits any Nanuk case. If you own a Nanuk case, you should buy this lock. It was specifically designed by Nanuk to fit Nanuk cases, and it does so flawlessly. Some people are knocking stars off their reviews because the Nanuk lock designed to fit Nanuk cases didn’t fit their non-Nanuk case. In the spirit, I just wrote a 3-star review to my local bagel shop because they didn’t serve pizza.

Pin length is specifically designed for NANUK cases. I love the design concept of the lock but I have a Pelican V300 Vault Large Pistol Case and a Pelican V730 Vault Tactical Case. This is the most sturdy TSA pin design on the market BUT the pin is too short to fit my Pelican cases. I took measurement of the existing pin, drew it up on AutoCAD, lengthened the design on AutoCAD to fit the Pelican Cases and had a CNC Fab shop fabricate new longer pins out of Stainless Steel. My rating is less than 5-star only because I had the added expense to fabricate new pins but I am satisfied with the new design and they now work perfectly with my Pelican Case.

Grab a small square nut and it's perfect for a Milwaukee packout toolbox. The nut will make it so there's no space for a boltcutter to grip. I've used this on jobsites near a homeless camp (chained to a pillar) and so far it's thwarted everyone. I'm guessing it can also be used for gun safes but dammit Jim, I'm an electrician not a hunter.

I love these locks for my Nanuk 325 carry-on case. The shank length is perfect, and the red rubber removable silicone loop everyone keeps complaining about didn't bother me at all. It's removable, and while that's annoying, I get it. My easy solution was a teeny dot of Gorilla Heavy Duty GorillaWeld 2-Part Epoxy on both ends of the loop where they attach to the lock. It's overkill, and I'm sure regular Gorilla Super Glue would have worked, but the former is what I had on hand. It's worked out great! I travel consistently with this hard case and the locks, and have had no loosening of the loops, and no losses. Everything is intact. The locks are also sturdy and serving their purposes as intended. Highly rec!

It does the job well of securing my pelican air cases 1615 and 1535. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a lock that is functional as well as looking good.
