Invacare microAIR Advanced Alternating Pressure Mattress System, 500 lb. Weight Capacity, MA600

I can't say enough about this bed. My mother who is 81 spends a lot of time in bed after an extensive illness. She left the hospital with a wound, not a bed sore on her buttocks and also had bursitis in her butt. When we brought Mom home she had to be on a air waffle cushion under her butt because any bed she was on, including low air loss mattress, was too hard and we were constantly having to wedge her this way and that way. Also the bursitis keeps her from being able to sit in a chair for very long and being on a hard bed was not helping her to heal. Of course we were provided with a low air mattress by Medicare when she came home. Honestly the bed was horrible. It went from hard as a rock hard to bottoming out in no time. This was a lot of work for my father and I taking care of Mom, she was just never comfortable and we were having to constantly re-adjust.Fast forward.We now have this Invacare bed. It is just fabulous. High quality, medical grade and just like what Mom had in the hospital. The low air-loss is a true low air loss, maintaining the setting without any bottoming out. From 1-8 setting for low air loss gives a lot of control over the mattress firmness. The bed regularly adjusts to maintain your setting. But even better is the alternating pressure feature which is outstanding and easily rivals $10,000 hospital beds. It supports 2/3 of your body weight at any given time giving the other 1/3 of body weight a rest. Settings allow for you to have the alternating rotate every 5 minutes, 10 minutes 15 minutes etc. We have on the 5 minute setting. It's perfect.We have had Mom home for 2 years, I wish we had bought this bed way before now. It is quiet, you only hear the sound of air being released form the mattress. Even the way the bed attaches to the unit is impressive.If you have to take care of someone, do yourself and the patient a big favor and get this bed!

DECEPTIVE ITEM PHOTOS THIS ITEM DOES NOT INCLUDE THE BEDFRAME, EVEN THOUGH A BEDFRAME IS SHOWN IN THE PHOTOSI purchased this item because the photos all show the mattress AND the bedframe, and even some of the review comments mention "the bed" as if it included the bed frame. So, this is a VERY expensive mattress, and now we have to also purchase a bedframe for it. I won't ever trust this company again.

As a person who stuck in bed from 9 p.m. until 9 a.m. The mattress is a is awesome so great for the back so great to relieve pressure especially after being in a power chair from 9 a.m. till 8:45 at night it just a whole different world with this mattress it's a must-buy

This unit has given my wife a new lease on life Without the severe pain she was experiencing prior to purchase. The unit keeps her body slightly moving; helping her blood circulation and keeping pressure sores from developing. The pain she was experiencing continues, but not as severe. She is bed ridden now, but somewhat comfortable. Moving her in bed is easier in that you can make the mattress rock hard, creating a surface with no resistance.

The mattress was easy to set up. We've had it for a week and we're used to the noise. It's easy to operate. The problem we have is it's very slippery. My husband has nearly slid off it twice. He wants to sit up with his torso raised to eat and watch TV, but constantly slides down and ends up with his chin in his chest or his torso gets twisted around and then starts sliding off. If I could figure out how to keep him from sliding around, I would give it a 5 star review.

The mattress seems to be very well made. However, the pump let out air in the static mode when I sat on it.I am 275 lbs. and 6 foot tall. This mattress is rated for 500 lbs. with no air loss. I called Invacare support and they said the check valve in the pump may be bad. There should be no air expelled out the filter during static mode. So, I am returning the both the mattress and pump as instructed by the Invacare support. However, there is another problem, I received this from UPS in two boxes but Amazon only sent one return label ! How do I contact amazon to print a second return label for the mattress? Help.

I have been using brand of air mattress for 15 years and they work great for me being that I am bedridden and suffer with pressure sores. These types of mattresses are a must have for anyone that is bedridden or or suffers from pressure sores.
