Zippo: Quality never goes out of style.
So, I've had this Zippo Armored Brass lighter for about six or seven months now, and I carry it with me just about every day. From riding in my pocket and repeated handling the original high polished shiny brass finish has developed a fine tarnished patina which gives it a vintage appearance, and that is exactly how I like it. It really doesn't get used much, but I like having it in my pocket and packing it around and I do use it every Sunday night when I smoke my weekly cigar. Yeah, I know that true cigar aficionados would roll their eyes at the thought of lighting a fine cigar with anything other than a stick match, but I'm no cigar snob and the Zippo always gets the job done. Today I loaned it to the concrete worker guy that's helping me pour a parking pad and who is cutting me a helluva deal on the project. I guess you could call him a chain smoker, and the first thing this morning he asked me if I had a match. His eyes lit up when I handed him my Zippo and he began to reminisce about when he had a Zippo back when he was in the Army many years ago, and so on. He carried my lighter in his pocket for most of the day. He liked it. He's really treating me right on the cost of this concrete project, and seeing how much he liked my Zippo, and how often he used it to light up a smoke, I thought I'd get him one just like it. As an Amazon Prime buyer I reckon I'll have it for him when we dump the mud in the hole on Wednesday.

What more could you want?
This is a fantastic zippo. It's my first plain brass model, and I don't regret the puchase. It's color is a bit 'gaudy' at first, but the protective layer supposedly wears off and it tarnishes naturally (which I find appealing). If you've ever used a zippo, you know what to expect, but if you've never seen or held an Armor series, you're in for a huge surprise. This thing.... I don't know quite how to put this, but any zippo that I've bought in the past feels like a cheap low quality sheet metal garbage compared to this fine piece of art. This thing is SUPER solid and very very heavy (but not noticeably so in your pocket). The "click" is about an octave lower and definitely makes people look twice because it's the familiar sound, but a more "in your face" sound than a standard zippo. The edges are rounded off (you can see it in the photos), where as normal zippos are kind of on the sharper side in comparison. The butt of the casing doesn't have the familiar crimped bezel that you're used to, but rather it almost rounds out a bit because of the thickness. I was a bit worried about the extra weight for tricks, but it handles perfectly once you play with it for a few minutes. If you're looking for a tougher than normal zippo, then Armor is for you. If you're looking for a higher quality zippo, then Armor is for you. If you're into tricks, then, again, the Armor is for you.

I Like My Brass Armor Zippo
Armor models have a thicker metal case and lid than all other Zippos. It's advertised as "1.5 times thicker". I measured and that's exactly right, the walls of the Armor case are .030" thick , regular Zippos are .020" thick. The insert, the removable guts of Armor, is the same as in all Zippos. The hinge is also the standard sized 5 barrel hinge, which is made from metal about .025 thick on both the Armor and regular models. The extra weight is noticeable in the hand, I like the heft of it. Fully fuelled, it's 10 or 11 grams heavier than a regular Zippo, and it makes a solid, lower pitched click when opened and closed. I measured a fueled regular brass Zippo at 60 grams, a bit over 2 ounces, and the Armor at 70 grams, about 1/3 ounce heavier. I happen to love the "High Polish Brass" finish, because other Zippos are made of brass then plated or "painted", but with brass there's no finish to wear off. If you use it all the time like I do, it can start looking dull, but it cleans right up in 10 mins with a few cotton balls and some brass polish. I ordered this from Hat Shark via Amazon and had no problems. This is a very nice Zippo

Simple and dependable.
This is a solid brass lighter. A magnet is not attracted to the case. I removed the lighter fluid type insert and replaced it with a Zippo brand twin torch butane type insert. It works perfect. The Brass lighter is made in the U.S.A.

I absolutely love my Zippo Armor lighter. The heavier feel compared to standard Zippos gives it a satisfying, solid weight in the hand — you can really tell it’s built to last. The high polish brass finish is stunning, and over time it develops a unique patina that makes it feel even more personal and timeless. That classic Zippo clink sound is still as satisfying as ever, and after years of use, mine still performs flawlessly. Windproof, refillable, and incredibly reliable — it’s the kind of tool you keep for life. Whether you're using it daily or just carrying it for style, this lighter is a beautiful mix of function and form. Still have mine and still loving it. A classic

I bought this zippo on the half price with amazon explanation it is only scratched what it wasn't the truth. The flint compartment was totally stuck needed to redrill it and attach the spark wheel once again. The actual zippo lighter insert it was too loose fit in the metal case so needed to work on this too to make it fit nicely and on the top of that to remove the scratches. So, is it worth the whole lot of work I put it on this lighter for half price tag? For me yes because I had the time ,I was keen doing it etc. but for someone that want to buy zippo that starts and is half price just because few scratches on the case hehe .....No
