I’d been looking at a plantation blind with a hanging slat at my mother in law’s house for a couple years, trying to figure out a DIY fix. None of my crappy ideas worked. 😂 Finally got the bright idea to see if anyone on YouTube had a video on this topic. Lo and behold, there were several videos covering a variety of issues. One guy showed exactly how these little replacement pins work and how easy they are to install. Had to get my better half to use the drill to remove the old wooden pin, which he mentioned you might need to, in his instructions. Another good tip he mentioned is to use a credit card to keep the spring-loaded part of the pin pushed in as you slide the slat back into place against the frame. Worked like a charm, and the pin went in, just perfect. 🙂 My MIL is super happy, so that makes me happy!

I have plantation shutter throughout my home and over the years we have spent a fortune having a repairman come in and fix them when one of the dowels broke. This was a easy fix for my husband, after he figured out which drill size he needed to clear out the old dowel it took him just a couple of minutes to finish the job! My only complaint is on at least one of the replacement pieces the spring does not work so it will not be usable, but for about a buck each it is well worth the little loss. Still a great deal.

I have shutters all over the house and the problem with opening and shutting every single day is friction and it is the enemy of all moving parts. But this little gem is amazing. OMG what a life saver. One of the slats on my shutters broke the other week so as moat people do is they take to YouTube and I found the link to this product in the description and prayed it was available in GBUK as well. And it was thank god and mine arrived yesterday in the post and it was easy to do and I now have a moving slat again. I would commend this product in a heart beat.
