Blindingly bright and great battery life
This is my favorite medium size flashlight right now. We have both the old, 234 Lumen version and this one. The old one was plenty bright; this one is absolutely blinding at full power. The low intensity setting is not only useful for greatly extending battery life, but at close range it is often preferable. Battery life is very good for this class of flashlight. Keep in mind, when you are comparing it with other flashlights, that this one uses three AA batteries.I find the thumb switch easy to use and preferable to twisting shroud designs. The main downside is having the light turn on accidentally when packed. The photo luminescent body works well. I have the flashlight on my nightstand and it stays visible through the night without doing anything special.

Very bright!
This is the best flashlight I've ever had. It glows how a really long time, it's super bright and has a dim setting so I can use it without blinding myself at close range. It's small enough to fit in the pockets of my coveralls, but big enough that it doesn't get lost down in them. Plus it has a great locking mechanism for the batteries so they won't just pop out if you drop it. Very durable flashlight! Great buy!!!

Inherent plastic defect
Pelican generally makes excellent gear, that being said, I am dissapointed with this flashlight. The idea is great but the execution is unfortunate. Like others, mine has also developed cracks around the reflector housing. I don’t use it that much and don’t leave it on for extended durations. I have sent a warrantee claim to Pelican. I don’t want an exchange as it appears likely the next one will have the same issue. Other than that, the light is excellent, easy to spot in the dark, water resistant, and bright. Will update as events unfold...Update #1: Tried to contact Pelican online, they wanted a credit card number then no replies for the better part of a week. I called customer service, they had the claim, wanted be to pay for shipping it back to them and pay postage for them to send me a repair/replacement. I told them absolutely not, they need to pay for it all given the defect is clearly in the manufacturing. Waiting to hear from the service manager. I hold out little hope this will be resolved to my satisfaction.Update #2: They were completely unwilling to pay for postage which would have cost as much as the light. Quite disappointed. Worse is, they continue to sell a product which clearly has defects in the material. I will continue to avoid purchasing any of their products and dissuade others in the medical field and SAR from using in the future.

Cracked around lens after very light use as a bedside light. Redeemed customer service at Pelican.
I purchased this flashlight because of my childlike obsessed with glow in the dark stuff. And, Honestly, whatever plastic it is made out of is BY FAR the best glow in the dark material I have ever encountered. It will EASILY glow all night after being charged with just ambient room lighting. I sooooo wanted this to be my go to flashlight, for a while it was. Not too bright, long battery life, powered by easy to find AA's, and it's glow was very comforting next to my bed... which is the only place it ever was. So when I noticed the plastic cracking 360 degrees around the lens I was disappointed but not worried because Pelican is a massive multi-million dollar company with military contracts with huge profit margins of injection molded products, and I assumed great customer service. After a few days of emails they asked me to pay to have this shipped back to them and send them a check so they can ship a replacement back. Who knows how long that would take. I own a small business and if one of my products was defective I IMMEDIATELY send a replacement, an apology, and a few extra goodies to "make things right". Also a check? What, should I attach it to my carrier pigeon and let them know that I sent it via Morse code? I live in 2017. I probably bought this thing on Amazon on my magic computer phone while I was pooping in the toilet of an airplane going 600 mph at 30,000 ft... a check?! I don't even own check book... in the same way I don't pay for leeches with gold coins. Even if I did have a check book there is no way I would pay 33% of a defective product's value to ship it to the manufacturer... I didn't even pay shipping initially because I'm from the future and have Amazon Prime. I guess I'll try to return it to Amazon, at least they wont ask for a check or for me to send a telegram or get Typhoid.Update: I was contacted by a representative from Pelican and they did send out a replacement light along with "a few extra goodies to make things right". It was refreshing because they didn't have to do that. Hopefully this is a sign of a wave of changed in the customer service.

Great light.
This is a great flashlight. The one-off button is easy to access. The plastic housing is rugged. The glow-in-the-darkfeature is really nice. It is not that heavy. It is small enough to fit in a purse, for example. I have purchased three and one for my sister. Thumbs up for this design.

Great light, glows almost through the whole night. Great emergency light. But...
The fact that this glows pretty bright almost all night is amazing. Great bedside emergency light. Light is strong and easy to push the button to activate. My only issue is the area around the lens that attaches to the body of the flashlight has multiple cracks when i opened the package. Almost like there was a reaction to the glue they used to seal it up. Still structurally sound but thought you should know. Time will tell if it holds up or not.

Great Electronics, Weak Plastic
I bought this for my girlfriend for use while camping and for her Go Bag. 99.9% of the time it sits in her Mystery Ranch Go Bag inside her Jeep. We took it out today to do a battery life test, as I was considering buying three more to have at the doors in our new house. Turns out the plastic all around the lens is cracked! Nothing else wrong with it, and with "old" batteries it was on Hi for over four hours straight. But, the plastic is very fragile. I love my Pelican cases and tool boxes, but I will not be buying another of these lights. Not worth it to have it crack. Dorcy flashlights do not crack like this.
