Perfect starter kit for 6 year old
My kid used to play Osmo when she was 3 years old with their little genius starter kit back in the days. I sold them then forgot all about it and now she's 6. I asked her if she remembers playing Osmo in the past, she doesnt but when I ordered the Genius Start Kit that's more suitable for her age, she seems to remember some aspects to it. Upon opening the game, the process to install and add Osmo is pretty easy as long as you have an account with Osmo. They'll send you a code to connect the apps. We then tried 4 out of the 5 of the games they include. Numbers: such a great game for math skills, there's a whole lot of basic math work - adding, subtracting and when it got to multiplying and the numbers got a little higher - we had to stop. Words: You have to fill out the blanks as there are missing letters in a word. It's a fun game for a 6 year old who loves spelling out words. We haven't gone that far into the game but I would imagine it gets harder and she would constantly be challenged. Masterpiece: This game is a tricky one. I won't lie but I was excited about this one because my kid loves drawing and coloring. Unfortunately the tracing part where you trace on the paper with the help of the tracing outline on ipad is SO SO SO weird. It's hard to trace as you're constantly trying to find the lines and you're looking up and down repeatedly to make sure your pencil is on the line and most of the time, it's not so instead of tracing - my kid just memorized and copied the general outline and drew it herself on the paper. I wish this game was better in so many ways. Tangram: This one is a WINNER! My kid had so MUCH fun playing this game, it's almost her favorite. It comes with the tandem pieces in different shapes and colors and you have to put them together to create a figure. The app will help and guide you all the way which is so fun and helpful. It's also a funny game and I catch my kid giggling and laughing most of the time. Newton: We haven't played this one yet! Osmo has become a daily part of our life.

Perfect learning gift for your kids
We bought Genius kit after hearing about it since long from kid's school and our friends who has the product. After playing with the product along with my daughter, I would highly recommend it and think it is every penny worth at the price $99.99. Though there are a lot of learning games in the market which allows kids to learn basic mathematics and practice it; I think this one is unique because it never makes them glued to the screen. As far a kid is concerned, it's like they are playing with chips of a board game or using a pen to draw and competing to finish the challenges thrown by the screen. That is so cool! Of all the games, I loved the Numbers game. I can't think about a better way to teach kids addition and subtraction and that too at a mental math level. Osmo team has figured out a way to make the kids relate addition to "bring units together" and subtraction to "separate out units". That's precisely what it is and since the idea is hit at such a basic level, kids are easily able to grasp the concepts. I would highly recommend all parents to play these games along with the kids and gently let them understand that the things they are doing in Numbers game is nothing but the "boring" addition and subtraction they learn at their school. I have seen this really motivating my daughter who has now started using the mental calculation idea back at school while doing the same. In my opinion, this the best way to derive unbelievable value out of this product. You just need to do it a couple of times, your child will take it up from there. Similarly, found the Words game a good way to improve spellings and vocabulary. Osmo has lot more libraries on their My Osmo portal. Make sure you sign up while doing registration and download these libraries.

Easy set up
Got this for my 2nd grader for Christmas. She loves it! It was easier to set up than I expected which is a huge deal when you have an excited kid wanting to play with it. You do need to use your phone in addition to the device your using to play it. It sends codes to your email that you need to enter. I'm not super tech savvy but had it ready to play in under 10 min. I bought it with the hopes of making her tablet time more productive without her realizing it and this accomplished that. Also purchased the pizza game and monster game. The biggest plus was that IT ACTUALLY WORKS. I expected to have to have the game pieces lined up perfectly or for it to struggle to recognize the piece placement, but nope. It immediately identifies the game pieces and creates a corresponding image on her tablet screen. My only suggestion is (especially if you're buying multiple games) since there's a lot of pieces, purchase a storage case. Amazon has cases specifically for it, but make sure you buy the correct one (iPad vs android vs Fire tablet) because the docking piece is different for each one. This is definitely a great gift and since I got it on a deal day for 50% off, I got the additional games and I'm glad I did. I'm hoping it continues to hold her interest because it's a fun learning tool!

Great learning/teaching tool
Osmo was recommended to me several years ago. I had forgotten about it until my house became “Gram School” while our world was social distancing. Our five year old grandson initially enjoyed the learning tools I had on hand, but I felt there was something else we could be doing to challenge him. I chose the Osmo Genius Starter Kit for IPad for 6-10 year olds after reading a review which indicated the five year old was ready for a more advanced level. Great advice! This kit comes with 5 different Learning Programs. The child is able to advance through the different levels as he/she is ready. My grandson is in Pre-K and we have chosen the Junior level. These math skills and letter sounds are spot on for him. He is learning to add and subtract and identify letter sounds without frustration. I can see him gaining confidence as he chooses the playing pieces to answer the questions. There are a few games guided by special characters which he enjoys. The Tangram offers puzzles at the Junior level and allows him to advance as he is ready. He is not as interested in Masterpiece a drawing program and is just learning the concept of Newton which is described as creative engineering with virtual balls and creating paths for them with shapes and everyday tools. There is a program for the phone for the parent to monitor progress and time spent on activities. As this is for a young child, I sit with him and supervise. I haven’t seen any clear cut directions for playing some of these games, although my grandson picked right up on it. I would prefer that I could lock the game from advancing until the child is ready for the next level. This was a bit problematic, and then he learned for himself that he was not ready for the next level. I would recommend this for any family. Although the initial cost is a bit pricey, if he uses this as a learning tool the next five years, it is money well spent. This package comes with the base for the tablet and five games. Other games can be purchased and used on this same base.

Mixed emotions but mostly good!
I had seen this item before but it was always a little too pricey. We got this on a pretty good sale and I didn't do much if any, research beforehand. One thing I wish I had known ahead of time was that you have to use the iPad without a case or with one of the few cases made specifically for Osmo. It would have been nice if the stand adjusted to fit other cases but it doesn't. If you want the Osmo compatible cases you're looking at another $50. I just found a super cheap case that was easy to put on and take off, not a dealbreaker but this definitely was not ideal. Add on games are a little expensive so I think we will just be sticking to the 5 included with the starter kit, not a huge deal.

Worth every Cent
My wife had first heard about the Osmo form a friend of her's just before leaving to go to Japan, leaving our oldest (years old), with me who would be using the solution. I was not sure during the unboxing once it arrived wither or not It’s was just an extension for the iPad that includes interactive apps and games. It seemed like an interesting concept, but I wasn’t sure how it would be practical for us. Is a tool that fortifies learning and proportional thinking, or is it just another app? I was really impressed with how really well-made it is. It feels like it will actually hold up to normal wear and tear with our two young vibratious boys. The apps he liked the most from what I see are the ones that required you to really engage with both the physical part of the game as well as the screen. Overall, he really enjoys Osmo and has taken to using it every day after online school to my surprise. I think we'll be investing more in this "e-learning" platform as we move forward in this post-COVID 19 online schooling world.

Fantastic learning system!
As a former teacher, I tend to like physical hands-on learning experiences and am not big on the whole “screen time” thing for young children. HOWEVER, the OSMO learning system is AMAZING. Seriously, neatest game system ever. I love watching my kiddos play it and don’t even feel guilty about letting them have screen time to play on it during the week. What you get for the price point is worth every penny. The apps are easy to install and navigate. The games are fantastic and very engaging, without being over the top. The first few times I had to help my Kindergartener get it set up, but after a few times playing with it, she can even set it up for her preschool aged sibling. I’m so glad we chose to purchase the Genius set rather than piece by piece, though we did add the Pizza game (addition/subtraction/math), as well as the Detective game (problem solving) as separate purchases (which are also a big hit at our house!).

More Screen-Time is No Longer Mind Numbing: Parent-Approved!
I was apprehensive to giving my 4yr old another reason to be in front of a screen. With working from home now I needed a better option that random free apps that allow ads and links to buy things without controls or oversight. OSMO IS AWESOME! The games are well thought out and full of mini milestones and rewards to keep kids engaged. Since the app is on an iPad and there are actual objects to move screen time because multidimensional. Moving and creating actual works or objects to translate into the app/game. On top of feeing comfortable with the content, they also have a parent app that o can track his progress, time spent, and other learning stats. Very cool and a must have for parents looking make learning fun.
