Exo Terra Wet Rock Moisture Retaining Ceramic Reptile Cave,Grey,Large

My yearling ball python got in for the first time but then got herself completely wedged. The bottom of this hide is closed so cannot be lifted off. The bowl at the top, where the water goes, dips very low into the middle space inside the hide. My baby girls head was wedged underneath it and she was so rightly coiled around this hump that she couldn't manoeuvre out. I knew there was something wrong when she didn't come out of this (cool side) hide for 3 days. Her body had started to swell through the opening. We had to use pliers to break off small sections at a time to free her. Thankfully she wasn't hurt. You can see how much of it had to be broken away before we could free her in the photos attached. PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS HIDE FOR ANY SNAKE.

I bought this medium size cave for a hideaway for a Frog in my garden, hoping that it would be big enough for him to move around easily even with the spagnum moss in it, but am disappointed because i followed a review which said it was. And...there is a manufacuring sharp edge finish inside the cave on the bottom, so could hurt any creature without filing it down which we shouldnt have to do! Also the shape for the water takes up more room inside which is unnecessary. I have a pond so he doesnt need the water. All in all im rather sorryi chose this design and size. The Large one may gave been better but dearer.

Perfect for a 3y old cornsnake, she loves it! Great value for money, highly recommend.

My gecko loves this, but never leaves it. Because it's a one piece item I can only get her out by tipping her out gently, which is very undignified for the little critter and perhaps a bit stressful for her. Would be perfect as a two piece hide.

The first time I went to put water into the top of this it decided to explode with My SHEDDING SNAKE STILL INSIDE IT. Which has now cut him and cost me a trip to the vets. Thought it was fine up until the very moment this "moist rock" had water placed in the little dip at the top of it for it to shatter into fragments and cut my obviously surprised snake. Absolutely disgusting that this has happened sending back for a refund.

This in theory is a good item. However it breaks in transit too easily. The first Ceramic Reptile Cave was broken, and Amazon arranged deliver of a replacement the following day.The second cave received is not broken but it is cracked, so I suspect these items need to be handled with care.I would not buy this item again from Amazon (as easily breaks during transit), but I would buy from a store.

I am so disappointed! It’s one solid piece, you can’t get the gecko out of it, unless you turn it over and shake which stresses the animal out, this is horrible. To clean inside is a nightmare, you’ve got to use thin long brush.

Item seems ok but hard to really tell, hence the 3 stars. But beware, as it is not packaged very well. It is bubble wrapped, but in a box twice the size and not secure. I imagine it has been bouncing around very easily inside that box in a moving van! Such a pain to return and wait for refund now, as I definitely won’t be asking for a replacement.
