Amazon Basics 30L Dual Bin Soft-Close Trash can with Foot Pedal - 2 x 15 Liter Bins, Stainless Steel, Small Inner bins, Suitable for 1 or 2 People

I find it absurd that people can rate this product poorly for its small size. The size is clearly mentioned in the listing. I think it's up to the buyer to figure out what dimensions they need before ordering, or if they order incorrectly because they didn't do their due diligence, that's understandable but certainly don't blame the seller for your own mistake. Just because the thing doesn't work for you doesn't mean it doesn't work for someone else (some of us live in tiny apartments, single rooms in boarding houses, dorms, or have small offices or art studios...some want to separate their paper and plastic from trash in their bathrooms, some aren't using this for trash at all, be imaginative and don't assume your needs should be the needs of others or blame he company for making products to suit a variety of consumers' needs. There's a lid for every pot (or trash can as the case is here). This is the smallest dual bin trash can I could find and I needed just this size for my mom's bedroom. It closes perfectly, meaning the lid comes down all the way when you release the pedal. It's very nice looking and and as well-built as SimpleHuman trash cans (I read Amazon contracts with SimpleHuman to make some of their trash bins so this might be one of those). I use SimpleHuman size D trash bags (I actually use cheaper dupes made by PlasticPlace size D, they are cut precisely like the SimpleHuman bags, the ones in this size are thin though so if you are putting very heavy things in the trash, you might want a stronger bag, I guess they assume such a small bin would't require the thickness, but there are times when that's not the case). The D is a little loose but works well, I think R might fit more snugly and I might try that next but D is fine and the lid closes just fine with D bags in place. Not much more to say about this nice-looking small dual-bin receptable. Very well made and well designed.

Smaller than I expected, and by that I mean smaller than I imagined. I didn’t read the measurements provided or any reviews (rare for me). So, sizing discrepancy is on me. I ordered “Used - Like New” due to price. Came in excellent condition. If your household produces a lower amount of waste on regular basis, it should be fine! Even though it is smaller than expected, I will be keeping it for my townhome with 1 resident. I don’t make that much trash / recycling, so I think it will be spacious enough for my weekly waste. I may have to change an extra time or two if I’m having guests, but shouldn’t be an inconvenience.

Well, I love the low profile of the thing, but the two cans inside are a little crammed in and fussy to get in with a bag, and they are quite tall and skinny, so you end up wasting a good bit of conventional trash bag space (pro tip - use that hole they show you in the pictures to stuff your extra trash bag into and it works better if you're not using the kind with the built in tie strap. I am not sure if there was a picture with dimensions of each internal can, but your typical takeout square container is going in diagonally, so when we get takeout, we bag the empties and take them straight out to the garbage cans. It works well for our space and allows for the sorting between trash and recycling obviously. Basically, it gets the job done... just wish we could have gone a tiny bit bigger.

Bought this 3 years ago after moving into a new place with limited space & wanted something that would hold recycling, too. I guess I should have measured or educated myself on liters, but I imagined this would hold a LOT more than it does. I just thought each bin would be larger. I will say, it is very well-made--after three years it still works great, the finish is easy to clean & resists prints/dust-i don't find the need to touch it much with the foot pedal, which also still works great. I did end up removing the metal lift-handles from the bins, they got in the way and it was easier to pick up by that small hole in the front. The bins just don't hold much. Besides the small size, finding garbage bags that fit it are almost the worst part. The only ones I can find at the store are medium size. The thin kind with no drawstring or handle. We found these rubber bands made to go around the top of the bins so the bag doesn't slide down. Btw, there are just two of us living here with our cat & our dog. I don't think we generate a huge amount of trash, but it fills up fast for us. After owning this can for three years, I believe it would be perfect for a one-person household Or a couple who isn't a big consumer. And if you are thinking that you will just take out the bar that separates the two compartments, think again cuz it's part of the whole can. While im sure it could be done with a little ingenuity and some power tools, I think I will get another can & put this in the office or something. I do plan to buy this same brand because despite the size, I am really happy with everything else about it! Hope this helps someone before they buy it for a big family or even two people. And think of the trash bags---tall too big, small too small. Stuck with medium. Maybe better ones sold online.

I do not understand how this product is so highly rated. Using this trash can is (and has been) frustrating at about every turn. Do not buy. I shall elaborate: 1. Damaged Upon Arrival. In Stage 1, you discover how flimsy the product can is. As advertised, the trashcan looks like it should be sturdy, but (for me) arrived dented. Better yet (and apparently through some sort of magic), the trash can develops dents along the outer framing--totally on its own and despite careful use (e.g., no throwing off a balcony). 2. Normal Trash Bags Are Useless. Stage 2 is when the frustration begins to percolate. The majority of grocery and other convenience stores sell large (or "tall") trash bags, and would I bet dollars to doughnuts that this is the size most consumers (including me) are used to. However, the two buckets on this bad boy are so small that it's like figuring out a Rubik's cube to get a normal-sized trash bag fitted on each bucket. I doubt that you would prefer smaller bags for ordinary kitchen use, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic when everyone is at home. 3. Buckets Are Too Small. The measurements are accurately stated online, but the buckets are MUCH smaller than you'd think. You've probably already cursed yourself a few times having installed bags that are too big for buckets that are too small. Now you're in for the real treat in Stage 3: the buckets can only accommodate trash for 1-2 days maximum! And if you have a family, that figure drops down to 1-2 hours. Taking out the trash occurs more frequently than using the restroom. To add insult to injury, if you have normal trash bags (which I'm sure you do), they will be half full when the trash can is emptied, because they were too big for the buckets in the first place. Awesome! 4. Trash Bags Hard To Remove From Buckets. Stage 4 is the cherry on top. There is a handle on each bucket, and it operates similarly to the handles on grocery shopping baskets (i.e., falls down around the rim and can be pulled up when in use). Here, when you lift the trash bags from these ridiculous child-sized buckets, the handle on the bucket is unavoidably lifted along with the bag, entangling both and causing the bucket to be lifted right out of the trashcan. The upshot is that in Stage 4, everything becomes funny and you start laughing. The denouement, so to speak. 5. You Write Your First Amazon Review. No explanation needed.

I love the clean lines and easy to clean surface of this trash/recycle can. You can use the 8 gallon sized bags since I don't like to go without. Holds a good amount of stuff and easy to empty. I love the step pedal and the soft close. I am a recycle fool and all my veggie waste goes into a compost holder in my fridge so there's no worry about odor. Might be too small for more than two people unless you change your trash daily but otherwise, a great little good looking trash can for a great price!!

Originally I had purchased a larger more expensive dual can. It was a mistake. It way very big and heavy. The lid was awkward and heavy for the pedal. I returned it and purchased this one instead. So much better! The can arrived in good shape, no dents or scratches. It fits my kitchen nicely and the lid opens easily along the longer side, not the shorter. You need the medium sized trash bags. For the two of us, I need to empty the recycle side a few times a week, which I was already doing anyway. The trash I only need to do once. It sounds funny to say, but I have never been happier with a trashcan :)

It fits perfectly in the one small corner of my small kitchen, and it looks very nice there--low profile for a garbage can. I do have to empty it every evening because of the size, but I am in the habit of doing that anyway; it's nasty to leave your kitchen garbage sitting in the can for days! Honestly it fits a lot of garbage for the size, and for small space living it is actually a perfect shape. I don't know why people are complaining about that feature. The real trouble with this item is that it breaks very easily. I am about to order my third one; the lid of my second has broken off too badly to glue it back (which I have several times already). The same thing happened with my original can. I seem to need to replace it about once a year--it just doesn't last longer than that. This is very annoying, and obviously if you can get something better, that's probably the way to go. For me, it's been tough to find anything else that is the exact right size and shape for my kitchen, so I guess I'm going to have to just keep replacing this shoddy thing.

Davvero esteticamente molto molto bello ed elegante.... certo stiamo parlando comunque di un porta RIFIUTI!!! e il costo da sostenere per avere i rifiuti differenziati mi sembra esagerato! ciò detto, l'articolo è molto piacevole alla vista (dovendo restare in bella vista in cucina), sembra robusto ed è sicuramente ben fatto, vedremo sulla durata...... per ora (a parte il costo) tutto perfetto !!!!

This is a great sized bin for my kitchen. I did have a bit of mix up to get the right liners, I’ve got about 300 in the wrong size 🙄, however, it’s really sturdy, looks good and the soft closing lid means my cat can not have a heart attack when I put something it!

El cubo de basura es muy elegante. Funciona correctamente y parece robusto. La tapa no hace ningún ruido y baja despacito. La única pega que le pondría es lo complejo que es fijar las bolsas en los cubos, el reborde el cubo es muy pequeño y es complejo enganchar la bolsa en él, nada extremadamente horrible, pero si que es verdad que en todo lo demas el producto es perfecto.

Vraiment pratique et hygiénique. Permet de trier sans avoir deux poubelles différentes, les contenants intérieurs se retirent facilement pour être vidé et nettoyés. L'extérieur se nettoie facilement et ne se raye. Un plus très agréable, la fermeture est quasiment hermétique donc pas d'odeur qui s'échappe de la poubelle. Une utilité évidente !
