These timers work very well, with a lot of flexibility. I only use them in a basic way – two on/off cycles per day, seven days per week, and found them quite simple to set up.The instructions are in very small type, and so I scanned them and read them in a larger scale on a PC screen. Given that, as long as they are read systematically then set-up is straightforward. If the switch doesn’t work the way you expect, the instructions include a ‘Troubleshooting’ section that covers most of the likely problems and fixes.Detail points about this switch include:- It’s rated at 3120 Watts, which should be ample for normal use. Some other switches I looked at were rated at around 2900W, which might be borderline for appliances such as room heaters- It’s physically not too bulky. In particular, the display area of the front doesn’t project too far. Other switches I’ve used stick out far enough to prevent larger appliance plugs from fitting into the socket.- It can handle up to 20 on/off program cycles at a time, and has a range of functions – countdown, random, etc. I haven’t tried these out as I’ve had no necessity for them, but I assume they work as advertised.- As a two-pack, it’s very good value for money.- Some of the items on the display are very small, and not easy to read in dim light. Once I’d used it a few times, I could recognise what was being displayed by its position (e.g. ‘on’ and ‘off’ appear in different places).All in all, I like these and would recommend them.

Used to switch Xmas lights on & off. Easy to set up and over-ride the settings if necessary by using the 'Advance' button. Also need to advance again to go back to automatic otherwise the switch will stay in the current setting, either on or off. Can be switched to BST or GMT and a programmed on / off can be suspended.Only down side I found was that if during programming you go past a time setting you wanted it is necessary to scroll through the 24 hours / 60 minutes to get to the time you want - there is no minus option for setting times.

I have a hybrid car which I charge off a 13A socket. I have an EV tariff that applies between 00.30 and 5.30 in the morning. Although my car has it's own charge timer and should be charging during those hours, my electricity supplier was still charging for full-price electricity. I put a mechanical timer in the circuit and that solved the problem. Although the timer was rated at 13A (I charge at 10A) it burned out in a couple of months. I have bought these which are rated at 13A, 3,120 watt (the circuit is delivering about 2,200 watt at 10A).I'm hoping that the clock on these is a bit more accurate than the mechanical clock on my old one and that they don't burn out so quickly.They were fairly easy to set up though I did make one mistake - the instruction manual says that, for the timer to work, you need to set the plug to "auto". In auto mode there are two choices "auto on" and "auto off". I assumed that I need to set it in "auto on" but that actually over rides auto. For the timer to work they need to be set in "auto off".

I love this device, it’s so accurate and I don’t need to manually switch on/off my heater and boiler

Very disappointed as one of the plugs was not working. Other reviewers had the same issue but thought I’d give them ago. My advice is give the a miss, I’m now trying smart plugs

Read the instructions carefully! Once set up it is excellent.

They are really good but it took ages to work out how to programme them as there were no instructions in English, otherwise I would have given 5 stars
