96 Year-Old Mother Loves It
Got this for my 96 year-old mother, and she loves it. Seems to be a quality iron, with a decent weight to it, unlike so many other irons these days. Overall quality seems very good...the plastic parts do not feel cheap; the cord is substantial and well-anchored; the bottom is very smooth...it just reminds one of the type of quality you used to be able to get many years ago.As some other reviewers have mentioned, the horizontal piece on top of the iron, under the handle, does get hot...but as long as you know this, it is easy enough not to be a problem- if a 96 year-old can handle it...so can you!

Great seamless iron
A little heavy on the point end, but makes it easier to get into corners. Once I got used to the extra weight I really like it. This has a flat sole plate, which is what I like for quilting. Also the sole plate is very nicely polished. My previous iron left a silvery gray residue on light colored fabric. The fit and finish is great! The sitting area has nice ears to keep it from tipping as easily.

Do not purchase this iron for pressing cotton for quilting.
This iron worked great a couple times. I purchased in late September 2021. I used it probably for a total of 10 hours since then. I used it to press my quilt tops and backing fabrics. The weight of the iron and no steam is great for ironing cotton fabrics. Today I used this iron and it did not heat up enough to take the wrinkle out of one layer of cotton. Very disappointed with this product. Save your money and don't buy this one.

Perfect for my needs
I bought this for my embroidery shop when my old iron finally gave up the ghost. It's perfect for my needs. I love the smooth bottom, the long cord, and the fact that it's nice and heavy so I don't have to press down so hard on things I'm pressing. The label on the top does get very hot, so you need to take care that you don't touch it when you pick the iron up, but thankfully this isn't hard to do.Overall I'm very pleased with this purchase.

Good for sewing
It works in my sewing room very well. I like that it doesn't automatically shut off. It could be hotter.

a great no-water iron !
I am an avid quilter, this iron is the greatest thing I've used in years ! No steam = No holes in the bottom plate to get caught up in corners ! I use a spray bottle for water - it gets very hot and does the job beautifully. Also, it doesn't shut off automatically, a great thing for my use !

Dangerous Fire Hazard
I loved this iron when I got it in October. I've been using it regularly but not every day. I was having a quilt retreat with my friend this week and the entire body of the iron was very hot, not just the plate. Then it sparked, made a cracking sound, and we had to unplug it to make sure it didn't start a fire. The spark that popped off burned my friend's hand. I was so disappointed because I loved that it was a dry iron since I never use steam. It was wonderful for pressing foundation paper-pieced quilt blocks. but it is less than 8 months old and I already have to buy a new iron.

Best iron I've owned in a long time
This iron does exactly what an iron is supposed to do. I have owned a number of steam irons and they always end up staining my clothes. This is due to rust and calcium residue build-up inside the iron, I assume, a problem that eventually comes up even with the most expensive brands. I use a damp cotton cloth placed on top of whatever I'm ironing if I need steam, or spray the item with water. This iron is like what my grandma used and I remember how nice her ironed things looked. I'm grateful I can now achieve the same results with my new iron.
