This was a cute book. My granddaughter enjoyed it. It was colorful and was a good addition to a basket of items for a gift.

This was a huge hit with five year old nephew! Thought it was overpriced but it's one of the few things the kids will actually play with on their own, quietly. Six year old neighbor boy also super into it. Mermaids are for everyone!

4 stars because one of the books didn’t have the wooden stylus. They shipped separately, two being through usps and one from another carrier and the one was packaged as if it had been opened already while the other 2 were newly sealed. It defeats the purpose in giving them as 3 separate gifts to 3 separate children but aside from that, my girls love theirs and enjoy sitting and reading together.

I'm blown away by the coolness of these books. I had no idea what we were in for when I bought it, but it was described as something pretty much any age could do. Add to it that it's mermaids and I knew my 4 year old would be happy. Well, this little book is super fun and easy to use. The little wood "scratcher" is used to simply scratch the black off the pages, almost "magically" revealing a vibrant picture. There's a story to go along and extra blank pages in the back so you can draw with your own pens/markers. It's worth it, great value.We are eager to try all of the books they make. These are perfect for the car because you don't need multiple pens, just the little wood scratcher that comes with it. Also great for restaurants to keep your little ones occupied. These make a fabulous gift, too.

My 4 year old LOVED this! She loved that the pictures were outlined so she could scratch it off inside the lines. I planned to save this for our next road trip, but she did the entire book in a little over a day lol when I read the description, I thought it had blank scratch off pages in the back so she could try making a picture on her own without outlines. Instead it is just plain paper that you can draw on. But overall we really loved this. I am going to buy another one and keep it until we hit the road for our next trip. I will also probably buy a couple for gifts. I loved these as a child, heck, I STILL love them. Thanks for such a great product!

My daughter was very disappointed to see already scribbled works in the book...we are not buying free of cost , paying such a high price getting a fault product is very disappointing..
