Extraordinary
This is an amazing instrument for the price. I bought it for my husband who is a musician and he loves it. Its well made and the tone is pure...and beautiful to look at. Can't wait for him to learn the song from Dr Zhivago...

High action, good sound, hard on the fingers
This mandolin i found sounded really good, and looked wonderful. The only qualms i have with it are the high action, and was rough on the fingers. This isn't to much of a problem, if you have a store locally that could lower the action for you, and set the bridge up correctly, because the intonation is a little off because of the high action. over all, i'm pleased with it. it stays in tune pretty well after you've had it for a week.

Nice Little Starter Mandolin
I'm probably not the best person to review the mandolin, since this is the first and only one I have ever played up to date. It has been serving it's function well for the past month, though. The set up was much easier than I expected, but I had to look for instructions online since they were not included.I was so excited to receive this gift in the mail! It looks great and stays in tune fairly well! There are a few cons of course, though. The pick guard is cheap plastic that sounds terrible if you tap it with a pick to keep a beat. One or two of the tuning pegs give me some trouble every so often--turning them ever so slightly won't change the pitch of the string for a while and then it overcompensates and goes way further than it should. But once I get the string in tune, it sounds good.Probably my biggest beef is that the makers did not put a finish on the space below the fretboard on the face of the mandolin. But then, I am a little OCD. I will probably do it myself eventually, but am afraid to ruin it somehow.

Not happy! This thing showed up with a big scratch ...
Not happy! This thing showed up with a big scratch in the front of it...along with strings that were all rusty and bent out of shape! I WILL BE sending it back!

Looks nice, but....
Bought this as a Christmas gift for my 15 year old musician son. I wanted to expand the types of instruments that he could play. He was thrilled when he opened it, and then things went south from there. He immediately noticed that the quality was sub par. It was returned. I will buy one that we can test out in a local music shop. Would make a lovely decoration ;)

A Great Mandolin.
I bought this for my son, who has played guitar for many years, but is now learning the mandolin. He loves it. Seems very well made, and the sound quality is excellent
