Great Quality, Must Have for Hunting
I've hunted for years with my Excalibur Micro crossbow with the standard quills and no illumination. I love the crossbow but started getting a bit annoyed losing arrows after shots due to them being so difficult to track (especially with most shots happening early morning and evening light conditions). I figured it was worth it to try getting illuminated nocks to try to not have to get quills on a yearly subscription. In doing some research and speaking with a friend that put them on himself, I figured there were some things that could go wrong with heating the old nocks incorrectly and weakening the arrow, so I decided to order quills with the illuminated nocks already installed. My friend, who did them himself, had an arrow break on release and he thinks it was due to him installing them incorrectly and the bolt weakening. Anyways, I have yet to lose a bolt and have downed 2 or 3 deer so far with them! Love these things and plan to always use them!

If you have an Excalibur Micro bow...
...these are the bolts to use. I have a 308 Short Banshee. Let me tell you, unless a deer is standing there looking straight at you directly in the face, no deer on this planet is going to "jump the string." By the time he hears "thunk" it's too late. These are fantastic bolts...the 16.5" ones made by Easton that is. They have flat nocks on purpose. If you buy them for a different crossbow don't bitch about it just send them back. I have shot multiple feral pigs with the exact same arrow and had no damage whatever to the fletchings when using 150 Excalibur Boltcutters. Supremely accurate and very repeatable out to a maximum of 45 yards in my first hand experience (you should be practicing and using a steady rest to shoot that far.) Good, good arrows. I highly recommend and worth every cent.

Feels sturdy.
Bought these to replace the set that came with my crossbow. The originals were Easton made and were fine. These seem a bit better quality, though. They’re made by Black Eagle. The fletching feels stiffer and is better aligned and they have a different nock, rhino nock, that it sturdier and more robust. I planned to replace the nock with lumenocks but I’m not sure how that modification will go now. They shoot straight and seem to fly true. And the white fletching is easy to see, even with a bit of blood on it.They’re a bit pricey, but are better made than the old version.

Illuminocks are a MUST with Xbow (but you can install yourself for cheaper than the pre-installed arrows)
The illuminated knocks work very well, and are honestly a near necessity for Xbow hunting. It is simply too easy to lose arrows without an illuminated knock, so these pretty much pay for themselves over the long haul. The other big advantage is that you can see the arrow flight, which helps determine what may have happened should you miss. I know I never would have found one of my arrows while turkey hunting this year if not for the Illuminock. I failed to see an old grapevine hanging just in front of the big gobbler I was shooting at. When I pulled the trigger, it seemed as if I had made perfect shot, when suddenly as the arrow appeared to be penetrating the bird it shot straight up into the atmosphere like a shot out of Roman candle. I didn't see the old wooden vine until I walked to the spot the bird was standing, and he must have literally been standing against it, which made it look like the Tom was wearing a suit of armor when that arrow deflected off like a bottle rocket to the sky. I found my arrow easily enough, though, and it was only 130 yards away from the spot the gobbler was standing. I would have never found it without the lighted knock. The only reason I deducted one star is that you can get the Illuminocks separately and install them on your arrows for quite a bit cheaper. I originally thought this might be a bit of a chore with the Excalibur style arrows, but it really isn't too bad at all. There are plenty of You Tube videos which show you how in just a few minutes. Also, a couple of reviewers mentioned them being hard to turn off. Just hold near the end of the arrow and push the knock sideways with increasing pressure till it turns off. There are several You Tube videos showing how to easily do this, as well. Thanks for reading my review.
