*** Amended 3/13/25 -- I contacted the manufacturer and they were very helpful. They are sending me a new light strip and the clips to install it. Response was quick and extremely helpful. ** I bought this Tetra LED Hood 30 x 12 on March 6, 2025. Aside from the fact that the set up instructions are terrible, the LED bar light is too narrow to fit snuggly into the provided channel. The channel appears to have been made for a wider light, so the one provided constantly fell into the aquarium.

This lid is 100000% worth it! It makes maintaining your fish tank SO much easier!I personally did not install the included lights as I had my own lights, but it seems like the included lights would be just as easy to install.The lid is durable, it holds the weight of my large cat whenever he decides to jump on top of my tank.The lid itself was a bit confusing to install, but it was worth the hassle. Make sure you double read the instructions so you don’t end up frustrated like I did.It fits perfectly and it functions as advertised. If you’re thinking about buying this, just do it. Your sanity will thank you!!

I have a Twtra 55 gallon aquarium and their LEDs in the hood stopped working after a few months. I thought for sure, Tetra fixed the issue and I purchased entire assembly because I wanted LED lighting in hood. Instead, Tetra made zero changes to hood and supply an after market LED strip that doesn't fit into the hood (simply falls out). To remedy, Tetra sends you silly clips and want you to attach the LED to front aquarium frame and then additional clips to route the wires. Pathetic and deceptive (if not fraudulent) advertising. What a joke of a product. I could have gone ahead and picked up cheap waterproof LED if I knew about this scam ahead of time.

This is exactly what I needed to replace my old tank top. I would advise future buyers to ensure they order the right size.

I bought this for a blackwater setup, I replaced the light and heater that come with it. They work as backups but I most wanted the kit for the tank and the lid. Holds water. What more can you ask lol

Left it right in a puddle of water it was soaked and wet on one side but thank God the product was still good
