This is my 5th juicer. I've worn out a Juiceman junior, and a Juiceman junior pro, each of which gave me about 2 years of daily juicing before the same plastic piece broke (not replaceable). Then I briefly had a Jack LaLane which I promptly gave away because it was cumbersome and not the easiest to take apart and clean. Then I moved to England where I had a beast of a British juicer that ran on a 220 current. It would eat a hammer if you let it. Great machine, but I could not bring it back with me. So, now back in the US and in need of a juicer. I'd never heard of L'Equipe before, but it hit my price point and had good reviews, along with a Breville and a T-fal juicer. So it was a decision between the 3. I did not consider the Juiceman again because a) the same part breaks b) after using other juicers I realized how much pulp the Juiceman lets into the juice c) low yield of the Juiceman. So trying to decide between the Breville, T-fal and L'Equipe, which all have good reviews, I went to their websites and that made up my mind. Despite having a French sounding name, L'Equipe is an American company and the juicer is MADE IN THE USA, major selling point for me. Also checking out the website, I saw that they are a "wellness" company, making products that support a healthy lifestyles. So, I like that too. But, does the thing work? Yes. Of the five juicers I have owned this is clearly the best: 1. Easy to clean. Particularly the basket. It comes clean much easier than any other I've used, including juicers of friends and family. 2. No pulp in the juice, very smooth. 3. Great yield. Takes fewer carrots than any of my other juicers. 4. Plenty of power. It has chewed up beets, collards, carrots, big hunks of ginger, no problem. I've had the juicer for a week now (daily use) and I have found only one drawback. It does not come with a clever collection cup. The last juicer I had had a collection cup with a lid so that the spout went down into the cup and was covered, no splash. This juicer has no such ingenious contraption and the juice splatters pretty good as it comes out of the spout. It is an easy fix though, just hold your hand over the spout or drape a kitchen towel over it as you juice to eliminate splatters. Overall, I really like this machine and heartily recommend it. Caveat for anyone new to juicing: I say "easy to clean," but realize that this is a relative term. ALL juicers are a bit of a pain in ass to clean. It will take a few minutes no matter what brand you have. It is just that some juicers are a lot more tedious than others. This cleaning thing is (my opinion) what prevents a lot of people from developing a good juicing habit. It kept me from it for a long time. But once I committed to daily juicing, daily practice allowed me to get good at it and streamline the process. Now I can make a juice and be cleaned up in just a few minutes. At first juicing is a chore. But if you are new, Hang In There! You'll figure out tricks, it gets a lot easier and faster, and . . . It IS worth it :) UPDATE JUNE 9 2014: The juicer is still going strong. No complaints. 7 months of frequent usage and I still would recommend the machine :)

I just bought this juicer. It arrived this week. I have made juice every day, and it's everything I was looking for in a juicer. I also have a Champion juicer which I bought several years ago, but ceased to use it because it was SO HEAVY!! and SO NOT USER FRIENDLY! I never used it for those reasons, and hard to assemble and disassemble. It took forever to juice and clean up and took up so much space on my counter because it was a horizontal versus a vertical shaped juicer. So after feeling more and more run down, (I am 74 years old), I decided what's the use of the very best juicer in the whole wide world if you don't use it? So I'd been thinking for quite a while that I needed one that was user friendly for me. Lightweight, easy to assemble/disassemble/easy to clean/fast juicing/small and attractive enough to leave out on my kitchen counter ALL THE TIME/and affordable. So I began to research, and came upon a great youtube video by discountjuicers.com where he compares juicers, and that's how I first learned of the L'Equip Pulp Ejection Juicer. I had never heard of it before. The three greatest tips for using this juicer are: 1. Put a plastic bag in the pulp catcher, like the type you put your produce in the produce section. 2. Get an inexpensive toothbrush to be sure to clean out all pulp that might be in any of the tiny mesh holes after juicing. 3. Use a tall drinking glass under the spout to collect the juice, as a low bowl allows some juice to splatter on the counter. Plus then you can just drink from the glass and thereby eliminate one bowl to clean. (6 carrots makes a cup of juice) The juicer is a cinch to use and clean, while getting healthy at the same time. I definitely recommend this juicer. Will update you as I go. But I think I feel more energetic already!

I ordered this late yesterday afternoon, Super Saver shipping, and it arrived here late this morning. Having seen all the John videos on juicers I ordered this in black since there are plastic parts ( pit is a mostly plastic juicer) that might get stained if I get into carrot juice. When I opened the overpack there is the box with pictures of a white juicer. Not a big enough deal to return it. But opening the box I found my black juicer. And only my black juicer. I later found a little label up in one of the corners of the box saying it contained a black juicer. So if you are here reading reviews before buying locally and you want a particular color juicer it is something to be aware of. Speaking of the packaging, the overpack was well crushed and the product box had a hole punched in one side. It looks like the juice spout probably poked through from the inside when the box was dropped. I figured there would be a booklet included with the usual safety warnings, operation instructions, and maybe a few recipes. Nothing. The only instructions you get are a warning label attached to the ejector cover saying there are sharp blades inside and you should only push items in with the supplied pusher and not open the unit until the motor has stopped. I took the unit apart to be sure I knew how to do that before getting it dirty and slippery. The latches that secure the top are plastic so will likely not be long lived. There are supposed to be safety interlock switches under them so that the unit can not be operated unless they are properly engaged. There is a switch under the latch on the side of the machine where the power switch is and when it is not depressed by the latch the motor will not turn on. But there is no switch on the other side and the motor will run when that latch is not engaged. Hopefully that will be the first latch to break. It takes a bit of fiddling to get everything lined up so the top is aligned with the latches and the pulp catcher. The metal strainer basket is spot welded to the spinning frame. On the underside of the frame there are faint rust marks at each weld mark. If it is rusting before use how long will it be before it rusts apart once I start using and washing it. But we need iron in our diet right. I have seen complaints from people about juicers splattering their kitchens with juice or pulp and John even picked up one of the juicers he was extolling that had a large puddle of pulp under it. I decided the safest thing to do was to make my first juice with the juicer sitting in the tub. When I got done there was some juice and pulp un the tub but I think it was from me being sloppy during the process. For my first juice I got out some apples that have been hanging around. There was one Red Delicious and two Granny Smith. The red delicious was the smallest and about the maximum size of the food chute so it was my first try. The pusher has a strange wedge cut out of it the purpose of which was not evident until I looked down the chute before putting the apple in. There is a long triangular septum attached to one side of the chute that the wedge in the pusher has to go around. So while you can put an uncut 3" apple in the chute you have to push the wedge through it effectively cutting it in half. I decided that it would probable be easier to quarter all of my apples with a knife, especially since the Granny Smiths would need to be quartered to fit in the chute at all. I am sure I amplified the sound by having the juicer in the tub but it is a noisy machine. I got about a cup of juice and 1/3 cup of froth out of my three apples. Checking the pulp bin the pulp appeared to be fairly dry but really was quite wet. I dug it out and tried to run it through the machine again. I got a little more juice out of the pulp but once that juice was extracted there was not enough moisture left in the pulp for it to slide off the plastic lid. So I am either going to have to throw out some juice with my pulp or run the pull back through the machine and continually disassemble it to clear the pulp out of the lid. I didn't notice any seeds in the pulp and don't know if they were buried in there or were chopped up and included in the juice. I forgot to line the pulp catcher with a plastic bag so cleanup was a little messier than it needed to be. The shape of the catcher leaves some tight angle corners that will be hard to clean if the pulp is allowed to dry in them. On the other hand, where getting that catcher lined up properly isn't automatic putting a plastic bag in there may make it harder to get a proper fit and result in pulp landing on the counter top rather than in the catcher. Getting the bin out of the juice bowl is not easy and works best if you grab the bowl and wobble it from side to side with the bin still attached to the motor until they break free. I don't know if this will do any damage to the motor though. Cleaning the strainer bin really requires a brush of some type. It would be nice if one were included but you have to supply your own. You need to be real careful trying to clean the inside of the bin with your fingers as the cutter blades are very close to the holes in the bottom edge of the strainer screen and will cut the ends off your fingers as easily as they will the skin off an apple. The apple juice tasted good and was probably as easy to make as it is to core and chop up an apple so so far so good. But I am not sure this is the juicer for the long haul. It seems like it is a good first juicer, but if you are buying a juicer to see what juicing is all about with the mindset that you will replace it if you get into it there are some cheaper juicers that might serve the purpose. If you are into juicing and want something to go the distance I would look fore something with more metal, especially the latches.

This is a great little juicer. If you're new to juicing, this is easy to use and clean. It doesn't take up too much room on the counter - I think most of us who juice just keep these on the counter since you're using, washing and drying it every day. I often juice for a few months, quit and then give my juicer away. A year or so later, I decide I'm going to juice again and need to buy another juicer. This is my third purchase of this same juicer! I always think I'll give it a try and then buy a bigger or fancier juicer later on down the road - the Omega 8006 looks great but I haven't quiet found the combo of fruits and veggies to keep me juicing. I keep trying and this juicer is a good value and a great starter.

Update 9/16/2016: Still working.. Had this thing over a year now I think and going strong with all its original parts still brand new in appearance and function. Happier with it now than when I wrote this review originally. Super Happy! bit of advice if you get this one.. it makes 20-30oz of juice perfectly at a time.. not a gallon. Cleaning the filter basket is quick and easy and with 30 seconds effort you're ready for another 20-30oz. Do your apples last.. I have no idea why but sometimes apples clog the filter very quickly. Otherwise this is a solid.. very very easy to clean and reliable appliance. Can't live without it. The quality of juice is equal to that of the local juice bar which costs so much more. You will need a large container to collect juice.. I use a 60 oz clear round container sitting on top of a thin food scale. If you do not have the right juice collection vessel you will get a lot of splashing. With experimentation and an open mind this is not a problem at all. BUY THIS JUICER!
