Great Camera and Unprecidented Superb Support
I received the camera promptly and started by putting it in my full sized, long bed 1997 pickup truck running it off a free separate battery for the camera just to test that the image could be received well in the cab of the truck. The screen shot you see was taken with my cell phone and then rotated to the correct orientation with Gimp, so those of you who are aware what all of that does to an image, know that it does not do justice to the very sharp and pleasant image that I was surprised to see. The night-time image, of course, is no where near as clear (not shown) but I could still easily make out the houses across the street.I chose to install the camera so that it is powered by the tail lights so I could turn it on and off at will. I tend to drive with my headlights on all of the time as a safety measure, so I control the camera with the push button on the cigarette lighter plug in power supply. This method of powering the monitor works perfectly for me because my old pickup has two easy to reach cigarette lighters. I could have used the enclosed additional to permanently power the monitor, but I did not. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the image remained sharp even after running the wires with the antenna through my all metal truck bumper to reach the light assembly to provide power. There are bright LED lights on the camera that only come on in the dark. One concern I have, which may be a reason I will switch my power over to backup lights for the camera, is that the bright LED lights may be distracting to anyone following me at night. I will have to check that out and if it is a problem, I will switch over to using the backup light instead. The support I received with this camera was unprecedented! I received an email offering help and I received it. I had trouble with one of the links for the YouTube videos and then sent it to me so I could click on it. The YouTube 2nd and 3rd YouTube videos are for wired cameras, which are much more difficult to install, so I pretty much ignored them. I did have trouble getting a good solid power connection with the enclosed easy to install connectors. There connectors usually do not have issues as I have used them before. Thankfully, I decided to put Anderson Power Pole connectors on the wires coming from the tail lights so that I could easily manipulate the power wires from the camera if I wanted to. That made it easy to use a multimeter to determine where the poor connection was and just manipulate the wires to fix it. If you have trouble getting a good connection and you do not have that option, I would suggest just pulling out the silver connector and slightly repositioning the wires and pressing it down again. You are provided with an option to receive an additional camera that uses a different frequency allowing you two switch views from rear to front on the same monitor if you if you choose, and they are sending that to me. That is only good for one camera, so if you buy more than one camera, you need to purchase the front view camera which is found here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07WWTRTR5?ref=myi_title_dp. I plan to do that as I will be installing these on my old car as well!

Great backup camera for the price!!
The media could not be loaded. UPDATE: I originally purchased the first backup camera and loved it until it went out on me. Being that it was still under warranty, I emailed customer service to have the camera replaced. I’ve since received the new updated version of this backup camera and let me tell you, it is nice. Picture clarity is really clear. I don’t have any pictures of this camera when it’s dark but pics to come soon. This whole experience was made exceptionally well due to customer service. They responded back right away after every email. I would still recommend this backup camera to anyone looking to purchase one. Installation was still a breeze with my old setup. I just had to connect the new wires and I was off and running again. The new monitor and backup camera should be the last two pictures but you should be able to tell the difference between them.Love this backup camera!! It was very easy to install. I needed a backup camera because I have a box truck that’s pretty long in length. Really hard to see so now it’s a cinch in backing into anything. The wiring harness for my backup lights was easy to access as you can see by my pictures. I didn’t need the camera to be on all the time so I connected the wires to my backup lights. There were only two wires to connect so that made it simple to splice with the connectors that were included with the kit. (See picture) Fishing the wires thru was the hard part. Just make sure to find the hot wire from the ground on the vehicle you’re working on. Mine was simple as one of the wires where it ran to was marked GROUND (white wire) and the STOP/TURN (green wire). When the splice connectors and the wires running to the camera are crimped and connected, you’re pretty much done at that end of the vehicle. The camera should be ready to go. I did take a picture of what the wires would look like on the underside of my box truck. Using zip ties to secure the wires and tucking the antenna thru one of the zip tie. After that, it’s just setting up the monitor up front and plugging it into a cigarette slot to power it up. (See picture)I’m bad at making reviews but hopefully this help someone. Reading the instructions didn’t help me very much and their recommended YouTube video was not very helpful either. Some knowledge of electrical wiring helped but in this instance it didn’t take much to figure it out. Take your time and have someone help if you can’t figure it out.Other than that, it’s a great camera. There’s a slight delay due to it being a wireless camera. Picture quality is great and even better at night. Thanks for reading and hope your install goes smoothly as mine did.
