Used for DVD collection. I like the sturdy lid; lock keeps lid securely in place; won't get smashed like a soft-cover storage book or cardboard box; easy to flip through even when stuffed full; comes with sticker labels for the flipper/dividers AND individual sleeves. I like that I don't have to be careful because they won't spill out or get spilled on! Safe and clean no matter what. At this price and space savings, you'll never have to weed out your movie collection again! When you move into your new containers, remember that DVD cases are recycle-able. If you like DVD cover art, you can do what I did - cut the DVD jacket into a square to keep/store with each movie.

I purchased two of these boxes for my DVDs. My husband and I are moving on board our boat and will be keeping a lot of our personal items in a storage unit. These boxes are just what I needed. Here's what you get:- Box with lid (easy assembly required)- 75 double-sided disc sleeves with labels- 3 plastic dividers with labels- Keys for lock/latch- Rubber feet (to keep the box from sliding around)You do need to put a little effort into popping out the plastic bits from each sleeve (otherwise, they will fall out on their own and make a mess). However, this is very easy to do. For the price of this storage set, having to do a little work is not too much to ask.Each sleeve holds two CDs or DVDs, so your box will hold 150 total. The latch locks, which will help keep the lid from opening and spilling CD/DVDs all over the place (if you are carrying it from one room to another, for example). If you keep the box in a drawer or on a shelf, then you might not use the latch at all. The rubber feet are a nice touch.All in all, I am very impressed with this system. If you want to minimize clutter in your life, or if you live in a small space, I highly recommend this storage system.

What you get*For the price, these are super cost effective.It comes dissembled, with Double Sided Disc Sleeves, a key set, plastic adhesive skid pads, dividers and stick on teeny labels for the dividers.*Overall ConstructionYou need to install little plastic pegs into the side of the box to get the lid on, and the plastic is sort of cheap and flimsy.I have no doubt it can take a few hits, but this is not heavy duty, I could break it by flexing it if I really tried, but will work perfectly as a static low abuse, high use, housing station for my discs.All of it is plastic, the key is a plastic square peg, and the lock is also the same, anyone who want's to get in will break it open easy, so I would only recommend the lock as a deterrent to nosy people, kids and animals, it will not work against anyone who truly want's to jack/steal your stuff, but instead I view it as a layer of privacy for Friends/Family and non destructive curious pets.*Final opinionIt is extremely cost effective, and works very well for day to day use in static locations, and offers a level of protection from Nosy people, and pets, but no real security, it also can be broken very easy I'm sure regardless of what Confirmation bias injected reviews may say, just keeping it real.Knowing what it is, and using it in the role I listed, it works flawlessly for me and I love it, 5 equals perfection, I feel this is a solid 4 star item, and recommend it if you need a cheap, effective way to frequently access discs in a low physical abuse environment.

I purchased three of these for my RV to hold my CD and DVD collection. My RV is older and tends to get damp and humid, so I needed something sturdy and waterproof to keep my family's collection safe. This is a great little case to keep your discs organized and protected. Before I used paper sleeves and slim cases but opted for this instead so I could thumb through my collection more easily. The three spacers are nice so you can keep your discs categorized and standing neatly. The sleeves provided are a convenient feature but double-sided so that makes it difficult to see the flip side disc of each sleeve. I use my own plastic sleeves which are a bit smaller but thinner so just as many discs can be stored as with the double sleeves. The lid does not align perfectly with the bottom so it takes a very small adjustment to align for locking. Still I don't think you could do much better for an economical disc storage solution.

This is essentially the same thing as the old 5 /14 floppy diskette case. They are nearly impossible to find. Do not store optical media long term in sleeves that have plastic facing the underside of the DVD/CD. Paper or cardboard will create dust that can damage them also. The best storage is Tyvek Sleeves, sold at Amazon, which do not shed dust, tear, or stick to the media. Otherwise use jewell boxes in this.The latch requires the use of a special key that will not stay in the lock, so the latch is useless. Other boxes are not hinged at the rear like this one, which makes it a little easier to handle and less likely to misplace the lid. The hinge consists of two pop in plugs, so it is much sturdier than the type which hinges on fingers at the rear.Although thin plastic, it is sturdier than heavy cardboard, but will not take rough handling. It's also light, which is good considering how much 150 CD's weigh.
