Farming Simulator - PlayStation 3

This is not your shoot'em up blood everywhere game. This is simply a simulator game on farming. You start our small with older equipment and as you grow you can buy newer tractors, trucks, land etc. The only thing I didn't care for is the fact that you could only have so many tractors and hired help and such, unlike the PC version where you could have as many as you wanted and/or needed. If they come out with another edition hopefully they will be able to fix that problem. Maybe have a setup like Gran Turismo where there is a virtual garage that you can store your equipment in. All in all I enjoyed it. You definitely get into it once you get more things and land.

We were brought up on farms, but our sons have limited exposure to the daily farmlife, although they do 4-H Sheep projects at their uncle's farm. We got two PS3 games as Christmas gifts and this Farming Simiulator seems to be played all the time. Our two sons (15 &11) even seem to be able to share and take turns. They seem to enjoy just watching each other. I haven't really observed the full content, but the boys do LOVE it. So much so that it seems to be all they do and we really have a battle getting them off of it. It is a game so they do stupid stuff with it, but I think they are learning some good financial concepts in the agriculture world.

This is a simulator which should be indicative from the title. I find fault with this game in that most of the fun equipment and activities comes from mods which are available for download on the internet. Most are free. The games just needs expansion on the types of plants you can grow, include improved yields with crop rotation and pest control to improve upon difficulty, more business aspects, more ranching activities, add a farmers garden and ability to sell at farmers market or to town restaurants. Basically, if the developers would just blend this simulator style with the massive amount of activities available in the Harvest Moon series (leave out the childlike romance)...they would broaden their base and create a much better game.Bottom line: what my review should point out (other than ideas posted in the wrong place) is that the game is fun, but their is a lot missing and nothing but vast improvements that could be made.

One thing that could make this awesome.... do the next one in 3d.... team up with rockstar and you may have the gta type money..challenging.. thinking game... time consuming. Really for 14-adult age range. Clean fun... no language issues... no strippers on the farm...Teaching...thinking...money management game...

Nothing to keep your interest during monotonous hours of back and forth in the fields, collecting eggs for little value, etc. I wanted to be able to raise livestock and set up greenhouses right away for my farming business. I had no interest in large fields of grain. Even at the easiest setting you're forced to grow corn, wheat, etc for several days of play before you have enough money to buy the best machinery, land that isn't miles apart, and start building your livestock and other farming businesses. The timed missions are monotonous too. Its a great concept and I really want a farming game on the PS platform, but it needs a lot of work to make it interesting. Also, the graphics and programming of other characters/vehicles is terrible.

Love this game. It's a bit tedious sometimes, but if you are a true SIM person you'll love it. Just wish you could farm cotton and more realistic crops from the soutwest. And having a real dairy and feed lot would be awesome too. Still a good game tho for being PS3 and not PC.

What a grate game, they love it.A lot better that all those war games! This will learn them how to get started in life, I like it.It teaches them to run a 'business', how to make money, save money and invest in the future.Would buy it again!

Did not like it at all its to boring. Nothing fun about it. It was not what I expected really disappointed😞👍👎
