Best power supply ever made
This is a bigger power supply, check your dimensions to make sure it will fit your application space.Pro: Fully modular so you only use what you need and have a very clean install. Awesome cables that are sleeved very well. Very flexible wires for easy manipulation. Comes with every kind of connector you will need. Evga has awesome customer service, and it has a very long 10 year warranty!Cons: only size limitations and it is not really a con. This power supply is a beast, it handles my high end gaming system with 2 R9 290's with no problem, I was able to push it to over 800watts with overclocking. Unfortunately my video cards generated too much heat inside the case, and I decided it would be better to split them into 2 systems. Now my sytem is super quiet, efficient and has plenty of GPU power to run whatever I want. Here are some facts you need to know when picking out equipment for a build.1) Never exceed 400 watts of (video cards) power, which translates directly into heat produced, in an enclosed case with air cooling. Your main PCIE16 card will be hotter because of radiant heat from the second card. This will make card 1 throttle more to control the heat, which will equal bad performance. (This exponentially multiplies with more cards.) It will also lead to all your fans running at 100% 2+ high end video cards (above 200 watts each) I reccommend liquid cooling the GPU's. Reference "hamster fans" are extremey loud and sound like a hair dryer running, I do not recomended them.2) It is fine to overkill your Power supply! Honestly you should double the wattage of the PS to what you think you will use. It allows for growth and overclocking if you want. Power Supplies run most efficiently at 50% of thier rated wattage and once you hit 70% efficiency goes down fast, while heat increases.3) One 24vdc rail is the best, and most versatile for multiple video card setups because you do not waist power.4) Fully Modular is the ONLY way to go5) Spend the extra money on a GOLD standard power supply, you will have a super stable and reliable system because you did.6) NEVER use power supply cables from ANOTHER power supply, because they can be wired different at the PS. USE ONLY THE POWER CONNECTORS THAT ARE SUPPLIED with this POWER SUPPLY. I know this because I have fried components before.

High Powered, Smooth, Clean and Quiet!
I had a Corsair HX850 before this. I was having problems with my system with slow downs, blue screens and shut downs. I got tired of it and tried to figure out what the problem was. I then upgraded my whole system except my power supply and a few other things. I then got this EVGA power supply and things were good. However, I soon realized that my system slowed down not due to the Corsair, but due to a faulty TV Tuner card. I removed the tuner and the system is speedy! With that said, this PSU still has better performance than the Corsair as it makes my system as powerful as it is allowed to be. I even added more RAM (32GB) so this PSU helps. I feel relief knowing that this PSU will not (has not) shut down, runs quiet, cool, clean and I can overclock my video card without a hiccup and this thing seems as if it has room to spare! With the PC biz designing more and more components to have low power (I guess because the oil is running out), many have compromises these days. After a while, we may not get or need high powered PSUs. CPUS are slowing down and getting weaker to support lower power and many PCs or consoles are becoming centered around a GPU in order to lower power. This PUS works with everything and it does it with excellence! My Corsair was 80Plus Silver - this one is Gold. This one has all of the latest specs, a nice box and a nice design. The ONLY thing I did not like were the peripheral cables, they were not flat but round! They should haven known better than to make them round and not flat. I was just able to get my case to shut. Good thing I just bought a full tower! They should have fixed that. One other thing is the SATA cables could have been a few more, but I had just enough. Yeah, you can use adapters for the molex, but the Corsair did not have too.At the price that I got this for on Amazon along with free shipping and the rebate (which seems like it took years), this was a deal I could not pass up! I don't have Crossfire or SLI, but at least I know if I wanted that option, this can more than handle it.

Supurb Power Supply!!!!!!!!!
I just built a brand new gaming computer and needed a power supply that I could trust. I first looked at the corsair series but noticed people were getting failures with them and I just don't have a lot of time to mess with RMA's. Luckily I found this bad boy and tried my luck here, all I have to say is WOW! This power supply worked right out of the box, has been rock stable and has worked for more than 3 weeks now without a hitch. Another thing I love is long warranty's and thats why I chose this PSU as it comes with a EVGA 10 year warranty!! Also it is modular and keeps my computer cable-mess free!! It comes with a lot of cables(all that I needed with extras) and they are wrapped in a mesh material for a more "premium" feel compared to the lower end modular PSU'S. In the end: I would Highly Recommend this Power Supply as EVGA did a wonderful job on this guy! So if your a builder and are looking for a nice reliable power supply with a long warranty, room for overclocking, and with power for future expansion this would be your guy!!***Update 1/4/2014***: Still chugging along! Its been 8 weeks so far and still no problems at all!
