I dare you to find a better pair at triple the price
For the record I just want to say that I NEVER write reviews on ANYTHING so, the fact that I'm writing a review is a big deal (to me anyways). I'm military and stationed on a ship and I always thought that these ear buds were great as far as sound quality and durability. The first instance I noticed that I would NEVER buy another brand of ear buds is when I accidentally left them in my uniform when I washed & dried them in Ship's Laundry (my rate is SH). I took my coveralls out of the dryer to hang them and that's when my head started tingling (having only one pair of headphones in the middle of the Arabian Gulf is life and death when you workout twice a day) because that's when I realized I F@$!#* up!!! I immediately started asking my shipmates if they had another pair that I could barrow but to no avail. So after about an hour of searching I bit the bullet and gave the a-Jays One a try in my phone and low and behold THEY WORKED flawlessly!!!!!!!!!! Now, to put this whole ordeal into perspective Navy washers and dryers real extremely high temperatures to help prevent the spread of sickness and infections. The dryers alone can reach temperatures of up to 200+ degrees so, that's why I was sure my ear buds were down for the 10 count!!!! I take my gym time very seriously and headphones/ear buds are LIFE when you're thousands of nautical miles away from land or the nearest store, a good sturdy pair of buds will help u keep ur sanity when it's day 95 out to sea. If you take any review seriously then this should be the one. I sweat profusely, do very strenuous workouts, and don't even try to be careful with these buds and my first pair lasted me over 3 and a half years people!!!!!! USS IWO JIMA LHD 7 if u wanna know.

AMAZING!
I have two of these. Thats how good they are. I bought a spare just in case and I still havent had need to use my spare. These are indeed TANGLE FREE. Unlike how other earphones advertise that they are TANGLE FREE. THESE DEFINITELY ARE! The cables are thick and flat and the sound quality is really crisp! The jack is also angled which is smart since most music players are in our pockets which means you wont have bent/broken cables from being in your pocket.

Fabulous Out of The Box!
The a-Jays One are wonderful straight out of the box. Strong bass and clear highs. If burn in actually helps... I can only imagine what these babys are going to sound like in 40 hours. Maybe I'm lucky, but I'm finding that the large size ear tips fit me great. I purchased the Comply foam ear tips based on some reviews, but I can't tell much of a difference in comfort and zero in fidelity.I may get slammed for saying this, but I purchased the Klipsch IMAGE S4's at the same time and they are a huge disappointment. The Klipsch IMAGE S4's highs are PAINFUL and the bass is non-existent. Maybe burn-in or special ear tips would help, but why bother when the a-Jays One sound so much better without the theoretical burn-in. I'm keeping the a-Jays and sending back the IMAGE S4's.Update (3-17-13)The a-Jays Ones have gotten even better with more use, and in my case gym abuse! Many times I've snagged the cord on gym eqipment hard enough to rip the buds from my ears with no damage. They've even made it though a complete WASH & DRY in a pair of workout shorts with no change in sound. Let them burn in and enjoy the heck out of them.

Beware...
I spent more than $35 on these and they worked a little over a year and I barely used them. I also keep them in a case as to not damage them. Apparently the fact that it is stated on the packaging that these are under a 2 year "global" warranty means nothing. I have contacted the manufacturer and they told me to try cleaning them and contact Amazon who will not assist either. The reason I spent more is because I was lead to believe that this would increase the quality. This is not so!!! They broke just like the $5 ones I bought. Don't waste your money with a company that does not stand by their product!!!!!

So Far So Good
I am HARD on earbuds. I ride a bike to work or a scooter. So I have only one ear in. Cords dangling usually equals earbud death. So far, I have yet to do any damage to these. The sound is pretty good, but I'm damaged, so I'm not a great judge on that account.ProsThe wide cord--it's easy to see, handle and adjust (and find!)The sideways, flat plug. It's very sturdy and doesn't pull out easily. Helps prevent 'fold over' damage.Cord length--longer than usual.Sound is pretty good.ConsNo volume adjustment.UPDATE 11/29/12Purchased in May and they lasted until almost December--6 whole months! As it stands, they are still in pretty good shape. There's a short now, though. But, overall, they last much longer and die more slowly than the SkullCandy ones I'd been buying by the gross. I'm going to purchase a new set and keep these as backup. I think, for my type of grinding daily 24-7-365 use, it's cheaper to purchase a better product that lasts longer than the cheapos that die a quick and dirty death.Cheers.UPDATE 2/28/13They finally died in January...more than 2 months after I noticed initial issues. Much hardier than others. In the end, the cost for purchasing a better quality product is less than buying poorer quality products that don't last as long.I'm on my second pair and will continue to buy these earbuds.UPDATE 1/08/13Almost a year. That's phenomenal for a grinder like me. It was more than a month that they lasted after I noticed a slight clicking. This time, the separation was at the cord to plug connection. I'm hoping for an improvement in tugging resistance.Tee up a new set. Backup set (I've learned my lesson) is my Maxell phone set of earbuds. Maybe because they double as a phone cord, but the quality is significantly lesser.OH. Knock a star off for the ridiculous packaging. Save a person $10 and quit w/ the HipHop star, outrageously wasteful packaging. Seals are dying on account of the oil needed to make the plastic for the casing.
