Festool 499550 SYS-Toolbox Open Top Systainer SYS-2

The media could not be loaded.  I am a newcomer to the Festool brand but from what I've seen, I'm pretty impressed.At a casual glance it appears that you are just getting a plastic box but on further investigation you discover that you are now part of an organization that has very devoted fans world wide and when you listen to what these fans are saying you learn that Festool boxes rarely crack or break.You learn that the company stands behind you and that (with the exception of the open box and "tackle box") each box was designed to hold one tool and all it's components. Now that may not be practical for the way you use your tools so luckily, you don't have to send a picture of your box to the company and worry about them revoking your Festool fan membership.Although you probably rarely line the inside of a metal tool box, there is something about plastic that makes me want to line them, so I do. Having said that, it should be noted that I am not a carpenter, I am a casual home user. Professionals work magic on these boxes and you can find an abundance of video ideas from them.

I have and love many Systainer products whether or not they are labelled Festool. Festool makes fabulous tools often perfectly arranged and contained in Systainer cases.

I bought this Sys-2 open top box due to a reviewer's suggestion regarding the  Festool 497697 Compact Cleaning Set . Great idea!Photos show:* This Sys-2 next to a much smaller Sys-1.* Loaded with a spare hose and the full Compact Cleaning Set from the Sys-1, PLUS a brush. Still plenty of room for spare bags or filters.* On top of my CT MIDI. When latched together you can lift the dust extractor (vacuum) with the handle on the Sys-2.Very happy with this box so far. Works great clipped on top of a Festool mini vac. "Mini Hepa Dust Extractor." Gives you portability and fast setup The hose (still connected) and power cord easily coil up and fit nicely in one side of the box - instead of unhooking the hose and trying to stuff it into the built-in compartment in the vac. Pipes and nozzles, etc. stand upright in the other side of the toolbox. (The Systainer that comes with the Festool 497697 Compact Cleaning Set barely holds the tools in that kit with no room for additional tools. Use that box for another purpose.)

This is a really great addition that helps keep me organized on projects. At the end of the day, I can carry everything around without overloading my hands. It does a great job linking with other systainers that are needed for the job. It is a bit more heavy duty than the typical systainer cases.

solid construction, spacious, ability to link to Festool tools boxes

Not much to say about it. It is fantastic. I like that it fits right on my festool vac. I can wheel it right into the jobsite and get it done faster.

Love it! Was in two minds if this would be any good to replace my tool bag but I have a Festool sander with systainer and this tool case is a great bit of kit to complement it. Not only neat and tidy as it connects to my other systainer but also can be carried in one - so sander systainer attached to tool case systainer and frees up my other hand to carry something else! Plenty of storage space too but I may get some additional spacers to separate certain tools etc.Can see why systainers become an addiction 😆

I bought this and another part for my partner as a gift and he was extremely pleased with them both!.Great quality and ALOT bigger than he'd expected which was a huge bonus for him as he could use it to store his rollers and paintbrushes in. Also very convenient as all the parts click in together creating a study system for all of his work tools in one place.

Good for filling with stuff for a specific job and handle is comfortable to hold. Solid construction but way over-priced for what it is. I regret getting 2, should've got another drawer set instead. They organise your bits better - this tends to fill up with bits and you have to empty it out to find what you are looking for is not in there anyway!

Great tool box, handy to have everything on display. I feel the plastic may break at some point, but the convenience out ways that. I love stacking my tool boxes, it makes everything so much tidier and easier to organise/carry.

I got this tool box as I saw my heating engineer having one and I was really impressed.
