Get It
Should have got this years ago. You'll use this every gig. Spend the extra money, it's worth it.

A no worries stand for guitar
I purchased this for a banjo at my instructor’s suggestion, but I don’t like the fact that the tuners rest on the yoke. However, it is excellent for my guitars and I highly recommend it.

A workhorse if you take care of it
Sturdy, holds both my bass guitars quite handily (a G&L SB-2 and a Fender Jazz) I keep it in the original box when transporting between gigs (which are MANY) and it still looks like new after over a year of steady use. Keeping it boxed makes a huge difference in wear and tear, rather than just chucking it in the back of your car.

They have a new fan in me.
My husband, who's soon to turn 75 years old, STILL keeps the rest of us on our toes, as he learns song after song after... Last year, our big gift to ourselves came in the form of a Bose tower. No more lugging 40-pound speakers or fighting with heavy and cumbersome tripods. This year, along with some other appropriate items, I bought him this new Hercules guitar stand. He'd seen it used by a band-mate and noted it only took one hand to operate. After 60 years of playing, he certainly deserves a well-made one-handed guitar stand!Also... I contacted the company GearHeads to tell them of a problem that didn't exist... Jon immediately replied and asked for more info. So I informed him I'd made a mistake. He replied again.THAT -- bothering to reply to "there's no issue" -- was the kicker. Addressing issues is the right thing to do. But taking the time to reply to "there's NO issue" is going a step beyond. Gotta love simple human decency coupled with a GREAT product! They have a new fan in me.

Great stand for your precious guitars
Great stand and very durable. I am very careful with my gear so this may not apply to the run and gun, throw it in the back of your Ford focus person. Have uses these with my band and we gig alot, with no problems at all.

Great for gigs
I've spent years using bargain stands on stage at gigs. I used this at the last one to hold my two basses, and I can't believe the difference it made in helping me switch quickly between the two. Throw one in, grab the other one and strap it on...no worrying about whether or not it's secure...you can tell it is by how it feels when you interact with it. It also folds up pretty compactly, so it's easy to transport.Only downside is that the wide base takes up quote a bit of real estate which could be an issue on small stages.Mine also didn't come with instructions, but it wasn't difficult to figure out.

Great packing space
Love how it doesn’t take up a lot of space, hate the way it breaks down, it takes a bit to fold up.

Generally ok ... but be very cautious if using for bass guitars or other heavy instruments
I've been using it for my two five-string electric bass guitars for a while. Generally, it's been very dependable. The auto-grip system that grips the instruments where the neck meets the head seems to work great. However, unfortunately, I found out recently that it has the potential to be very unstable.Since the two instruments are hanging on opposite sides of each other, and the support base is a tripod, it's not possible for both instruments to have a support leg directly underneath them, which I assume would make it more stable overall. Generally, it hasn't been a problem, but the other night, I unintentionally bumped the stand from the empty side, and the bass on the other side went crashing to the ground.I have been using this both at practice and at gigs because I switch between the two basses for different songs relatively frequently. It's something I've been depending on for quite a while. The tipping and falling over only happened once for me, but that is still once too often for me to be comfortable using it moving forward.I suspect that if you just use relatively lightweight instruments, you're probably fine. My 5-string Fender jazz bass (which fell) weighs 10 lb. Fortunately, I only ended up with a broken string, I think. But it's not an experience I want to repeat.
