Evil Follows
This was an interesting follow up to a book by Lee Child in which two, unsuspecting Canadian tourists were hunted for sport. With the help of Jack Reacher they survived the ordeal. Its now two years later and they are rebuilding their lives in California. However, evil follows them there. Special Agent Kim Otto, still following Jack Reacher, learns that he is in California and heads there to find him. What I like most about this series is the adventures that unfold along the way! In a way, I hope that Special Agent Otto never achieves her goal because the plots of the stories are to interesting to stop reading. This was a thoroughly enjoyable book. I'm already looking forward tot he next book in the series.

Jack of Spades. Diane Capri
This is an extremely fast paced action thriller and an excellent read. Typical Diane Capri! Special FBI agent Otto is again tasked with a seemingly impossible assignment. This novel involves personal family members of Jack Reacher. His dead brothers son, Jock. A magnificent read! Enjoyed immensely

Great Addition to my "The Hunt for Jack Reacher" Library
I love these Hunt for Jack Reacher books.....because I love Jack Reacher. Some of the scenarios in the series where Agent Kim Otto thinks she sees Reacher or he helps her out, or calls her, bug me a little bit, because that isn't reflected in Lee Childs' books. It would be really fun to have Lee Childs and Diane Capri write their Reacher/Hunt for Jack Reacher novels simultaneously for one story.I'm a bit disappointed that Gaspar is no longer Kim's partner, but I really like that he is still helping her from his new job, and still invested in the search. I would like to see more clues as to what "The Boss" really wants, and who this boss might be that he can pull all these strings.

WOW!
This was to me the best in the series so far. Multiple story lines and recalling the Reacher story for reference kept me deeply involved from start to finish. Having read every one of Lee Child's Jack Reacher books, this companion series is equally suspenseful and full of action. Diane Capri has created engaging characters that I care about and now she's successfully introduced a new twist in the series with the nephew, Jake Reacher. And even if we don't run into Jake in the near future, I'm betting he shows up again when least expected. I can't wait to read the next story. And the next!

The Jack of Spaces competes the royal flush
Agent Otto is at it again. Her partner staying to take care of his family, but stays a great partner to Otto. It is a great new partnership. Another great read with some good twists to the Hunt. I can't wait for the next hunt story to come out. Thank you Diane Capri and of course Lee Child.

Too much too fast
Otto is supposed to be smart, yet her conclusions about Reacher are biased. Eleven books cover about six months all involving Reacher. These stories convolute the Reacher persona as a drifter for 13 years. Agent Otto's past only portrays classroom trained agent, yet she sure conjures up street experience from office work in Detroit. Each book is fine but so far this collection appears to be a race to wrap up Reacher in 8 months that took Childs over 20 years to cleverly build.

Coast to Coast chase to catch Jack and help Jake.
A suspenseful chase that ties in with Kim, Gaspar, Jake and Jack Reacher. It's a who's who of the Reacher genealogy and race against time as Jake is pursued. I love the action and suspense of what to expect, and always expect the unexpected.

Not worth the time
Just when you think it couldn’t get worse.. You think Diane Capri’s version of this already dull and confusing storyline would at least enlighten you to exactly where Lee Child was going with this book, you suddenly feel like you just wasted another few hours on a book that solves no questions or just gets you more confused and frustrated. I have to say, Diane Capri really didn’t have much to work with from this book, but maybe I had hope that it would made the Past Tense something to forget about..

Good story
Another good storyline in the Hunt for Jack Reacher series and well linked to the original Reacher source book, Past Tense. The connections to the various Reacher family lines in Laconia are clever, and the introduction of Jake, a new younger version of Jack has future potential. While I was thoroughly entertained by the story for the most part, my reason for giving it only 4 stars is because the ending, in order to make Otto and Jake the heroine/hero, implies that Jack is significantly less competent than he is - he would never have left Shorty and Patty in danger by prioritising moving a body.

Another good read
I am a great Reacher fan and have read all Lee Childs' books. I found these via Lee Child and love them. Otto and Gaspar are great characters and I love the little insights into what happened following on from a Reacher escapade. Can't wait for the next one!

Spades
An enjoyable series still, even though it actually makes little sense. Can you imagine the FBI at some Senate committee trying to explain the amount of public money used to locate one man?
