not for marking queen. its for breaking the brood cycle to control varoa mites!
some have complained they cant mark queens easily. This is not for that!

Great after adaptation
This product was both good and bad for me, but in the end, I am very glad I purchased. I had a really nice, wooden one from Betterbee, but I lost it. Between that item and the shipping, it would have cost over $20 to replace the single queen cage.. I bought these (6) instead for so much less. But they were unusable in my opinion. The plastic mesh was so thick, I couldn’t see the queen much less get my pen through the small space to mark her. I cut out the plastic “mesh” and I replaced it with metal window screening. I had to pull some of the metal threads out to make the spaces/openings bigger, but then it was perfect. The teeth help to hold the new mesh in place, but then I also added a zip tie around the circumference of the cage. And now I have 6 of them in case I misplace the one I am using. Bottom line, it’s good for a do-it-yourself person, but not if you’re expecting a great product out of the box.

Not worth buying
The grid opening is too small to get a marking pen tip inside.

I thought they'd be bigger.
These are smaller than what I think as the normal size, but they do work for the queen.

Poor design
The plastic mesh is too stiff and the gaps too small. When using the visibility is poor and the chances of damaging the queen too high

Unfortunately, one of item arrived broken in shipping, but price was still good.
