AtecoPastry Brush, 1" Wide, White

This is a great brush to have in the kitchen. The bristles will shed once in a while, but that’s to be expected. I am happy with my purchase.

This has to be the world's worst pastry brush ever made. Since my first use, I've had bristles falling out like a middle aged used car salesman going through his second ugly divorce. I am an avid baker and this brush has nearly pushed me over the edge, I spend more time picking out tiny bristles than actually rolling out or enjoying the pastries I make.Today was the final straw, I dipped my handy dandy brush into beaten egg white to brush on my triple berry pie and half the bristles came off with the first stroke. UGH!!!!!!! seriously? I've got cheapy's from other big box stores that lasted for years. This one less than 7 months. (also, we had no kitchen for 10 weeks due to a remodel, so no baking occurred) I do not soak my brushes, I do not place them in a dishwasher. This is clearly made very poorly!!!! RUN, DO NOT BUY!!! you would be better off using your fingers.

I bought two of these for liquids - melted butter, egg wash, water. They work well, no loose bristles and easy to clean. I clean them by hand in warm water with just a few drops of dishwashing liquid, then wrap the bristles in a paper towel to dry. Happy so far!Product update, 2/18/2016 - Sorry to report that after just a few uses, both of the brushes are shedding like long-haired cats in July. Very disappointing! I tried to treat them very gently - no hard pressure, wash in mild detergent and warm water, air dry. I have purchased two soft Purdy Nylox painter's brushes to replace these.

some bristles came out at first, but that is normal, this is a tool, treat it as such, rinse in hot tap water and shake after each use, then air dry with bristles elevated, little oil film left on is good for bristles, . Do not wash in dish washer, do not use soap often to clean, treat roughly, I take care of, and store this. (Notice the hole in handle?), same as I do with my knives and I am happy with it. Hope this helps.update 07/09/2013 I have not seen any more bristles come out since the first few, I use this brush 1 3 times per week, I treat it as above and it is a quality tool. I never put tools with wooden handles in my dishwasher.

Honestly not of good quality, one could go to home depot and just find a better brush there and use that brush for food.The item that comes, the glue desolves under water, and after a few uses and washes, it completely fell apart. All the brush hairs came out, the head falls off easily (isnt secured).

I purchased the 1.5" brush specifically and exclusively to clean flour out of my grain mill storage container after milling grain. I tried my silicone pastry brush, but that was worthless for this task. I wanted something solid but soft, with enough bristles that the flour would actually brush out of the mill and fit into all the nooks and crannies. This brush fits the bill. It covered enough surface that the task was completed quickly, and didn't fling the flour like a stiffer brush might have. I've only had it a few days, and have only used it once, so can't comment on whether or not it sheds. So far, so good though. It is very thick, with lots of bristles, and the ferrule seems well secured on a nice wooden handle. Glad I found it on Amazon.

I got this brush a year ago for daily restaurant use and it held up great. When I needed another one I bought the exact same one and it fell apart in less than a week. First the handle wasn't glued properly and came completely apart. Before we were able to glue it back together the middle third of the bristles came out. So although our first brush held up really well, the second one couldn't even last a week before falling completely apart. I'm really disappointed the making of this brush is so inconsistent.
