I was very happy to find this offer to get the reader free with the 8GB MicroSD card. I was confused at first because it seemed not to work but I ready a review on this site that said it may not work if the usb port is recessed. I had plugged it in and the light came on but my computer didn't detect it. After reading the review I switched it to a different usb on the back of my laptop and it showed up and was ready to use within 5 seconds. What can I say, it works perfectly and looks pretty cool too. Plus, since it does read standard SD cards it can be used with other cards that I have that are standard size and Digital Media sent the SD adapter for my MicroSD card anyway. Fantastic deal and it got here faster than any of the other stuff I ordered on Amazon.

This little device is perfect for using on older computers or computers that do not have SD card slots. I use it mostly for laptops as the small size is convenient for travel. Data transfer speeds are not an issue. Some downsides: while small, the device is a bit awkward as it sticks out, making it difficult to use in tight spaces. Also, it is slightly wider than I would like. While plugged in, the device barely covers the adjacent port preventing another USB to inserted.There isn't much negative as the device works as expected. The red LED light is useful for knowing when the device is transferring and again it's size is pretty convenient. I keep mine in my camera bag and it doesn't take up any space compared to the corded USB card readers.

I loved this memory card reader...until it broke! It worked great for about 6 uses then I barely tapped it as it was in my USB port, and it fell to pieces. I pieced it back together but it no longer works. It is a nice device but is built cheaply. That being said, as cheap as it was, I would consider buying it again.

It turned my SD cards into a USB drive. I love it. I use it at home to transfer files from one SD card to another and at work to keep my files safe.The DMS 6-in-1 USB 2.0 High Speed Memory Card Reader Writer is Awesome! Using this with my computer's built in card reader makes a simple drag and drop procedure. It works exactly like a USB drive. On most computers it plugs right in. On others, with recessed USB ports I have had to use a USB extension cord.I am very happy with this purchase and will probably buy another one.
