Works well, resurrected a 23-year-old Game Boy cartridge which had lost its ability to save. Just make sure you check you have the right battery before ordering. Some use these, whereas others use the larger CR2025. You'll also need a soldering iron, solder, de-soldering wick, and a Gamebit screwdriver.

So it's been a few years since I got these and it's just dawned on me that these are the wrong batteries for GBA games. Advertising that they're good for Pokémon Ruby & Sapphire is just wrong, they will only last 5-7 years compared to the proper CR2025 or even an upgraded CR 2032 provided it will fit inside the cartridge. You're looking at upwards of 15-20 years with the 25 and 25 years+ with a 32.Also, if you are using these for Pokémon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald, I highly recommend you back up your save file either with a cartridge flasher, a DS & a DS Flashcart like an R4, or a modded Wii with a GBA-Gamecube link cable. When the battery dies, the in game timer resets to 0 days 0 hours played, and for the daily events to function again it will have to pass the last recorded date & time the calendar got to which could be pushing 20 years if you still have your original save file. You'll need to use a program like PkHex to edit your save data to put the time back to where it should be.
