RoamEO Pet Monitor System

I've been using my Roameo Pet Monitor System for a month now and absolutely love it. Initially the receiver was not connecting with the collar, but this was quickly resolved through a call to Pettronix. Pettronix customer service is above and beyond anything I've ever experienced. When I initially called, I was shocked that I was immediately transferred to `Tom' in Customer Service. He patiently guided me through each step and waited to ensure that I had a GPS lock on the collar before hanging up. After I used the collar a couple of days, I noticed that the pointer on the receiver seemed to be about 45 degrees off. When I could see my Pyrenees about 3,000 ft away, it was not pointing straight ahead, but slightly off. I called customer service again and left a message. Tom returned my call within 5 minutes! He spent a lot of time with me again, trying to troubleshoot the problem by asking if there were any possible interferences in the area, such as high voltage lines, etc. He then said that he would send out another receiver and that once I received it, to just return the other one using the postage paid label. Three days later the new receiver arrived as promised. It was able to recognize the collar immediately and worked flawlessly. Unfortunately, the next morning after a horrible thunderstorm, I no longer had a lock on the collar. My Pyr is terrified of thunderstorms and had disappeared into the woods during the night. Luckily she did return to our alpaca herd the next morning, but the collar was gone! I was very embarrassed to have to call Tom again, now needing to order a new collar. I explained to him that I really didn't know if the clasp could have come apart (which would disconnect the battery) or whether she snagged the collar on something and the battery was just drained. I asked how much a replacement collar would be and he put me on hold for a moment to check. When he came back on the line, he said that a replacement collar was being shipped out. I asked how much it was going to cost and he said nothing! I was totally floored! This company absolutely excels at providing a top quality product and backing it up with the kind of customer service that is almost unheard of today. If you're in the market for a tracking system for your favorite companion, I would highly recommend Pettronix.

I own a 3 year old Boxer that loves to run and I live next to a bird sanctuary. As you can imagine sometimes when she sees an interesting bird or a herd of deer, she takes off like a bullet. Within a few seconds she is out of sight. Before I purchased the RoamEO I didn't have a clue which direction she went. There are areas she could get into trouble so I decided after reading the reviews to give the RoamEO a try. I am happy to say it works great! It does what I expected it to do which was to track my dog. She wanders up to about 400 feet from me and always comes back when I whistle. Well, after I whistle 20 times and she lost interest in what she was sniffing. As an experiment I have been tracked to at least 1,600 feet from home until I didn't want to walk any further. It handled that with no problem. One thing I noticed some other people mention that I'd like to comment on...some say the unit will read "Near" when you can see that your dog ran say 40 feet away. All you need to do is turn around in a circle so the unit changes perspective and it re-locks on the dogs position. As you track your dog there are bars that light up on the screen to show the general direction. When your dog is directly in front of you, there are lines on the top of the screen that pulse to guide you. The unit is well made, easy to use, accurate, needs no subscription and is reasonably priced. I recommend it to anyone who wants their dog to have some freedom to Roam and still have peace of mind.

I have bad experience with this product from the moment I received and opened the box with RoamEo Pet Monitoring System. Following are the problems I have encountered: 1. Battery require different charger (not one that have been sent me). On the charger there are list of batteries that it supports. There is no mentioning of batteries type I have got. When I tried to insert battery into charger there were plastic tabs specially made to prevent battery of this type to be used with this charger. 2. When I started operations with ½ charged batteries (the way I have received them) and following the instructions I was waiting for more than half an hour before I got some satellite connection and still there was no detection of the collar location. 3. Instructions are written very poorly. For instance, nowhere I can find explanation about what I see on display. Inner part of it (including icon of battery) is it related to the status of the collar battery or receiver battery? What about outer part of the display? Does it show features of the collar or receiver? 4. Apparently before sending me the product they didn’t test it. Whatever was received from China was just re-sent to me without inspection of the device. I returned this device and ordered Garmin Tracking GPS.
