Citadel Contrast Paint: Basilicanum Grey (18ml)

Usual high quality, albeit overpriced, Citadel paint.

If you want a mid-grey (as I did for Covenanter coats) be prepared to water this contrast paint down or get ready to highlight as it is very dark grey indeed when applied.

I love the way this paint flows. It makes a good gray and is great for a non-metallic metal look.

I think this is a pretty weak contrast in the line up. It works well for light shading, but it's more like grey ink than paint. Honestly just use a medium to thin your paint.

I have bought now 5 or 6 bottles of this "Contrast" range and I have to say it is very overrated. Much like most GW products. They are over priced and over rated. There is no real contrast I can tell and it is an average gray. The bottle's top is a constant problem with drying up paint sooner than if there was a drop top like Vallejo bottles. But hey, drying up paints just drives the consumer back to buy more. Right? Overall, I would not buy these Contrast paints again.
