This is a very quick, engaging overview of the late dictator Fidel Castro. If, like me, you don't know anything about his life or rise to power, this is a good place to start. The author is straightforward, neither an apologist for the Castro regime nor someone with an axe to grind. Particularly interesting is the description of Castro's time at University of Havana and early political activism. The environment he came of age in was a dangerous one, rife with gangs, political corruption, and rumblings of revolution. Castro was clearly a gifted leader who was aware of the injustices around him; unfortunately, his solution was not to help implement a more just political system, but rather to institute a different form of tyranny.

Dry small pitiful book. No interesting material

With this book, you are able to learn about Fidel Castro and Cuba. This is an informative read.

An easy read on Fidel Castro. Shows a side that I didn't know, he was a dedicated man and a great orator. Book was written very well, can't wait to read more from this author.
