Good value and simple to use
I have never striped anything before and I acheived professional results right out of the box. I striped eleven parking spots in front of my restaurant and it paid for itself with one application. It is a robust design for the do-it-yourselfer, and suitable for light commercial applications. There is opportunity to improve the adjustment process of the spray pattern mechanism. There is no visual indicator to keep the spray can mounting plate perpendicular to the sprayed surface other than eyeballing it. This will not be an issue for most do-it-yourselfers.

Good paint striper for the DIY person
I have wanted this for years and finally broke down and spent the money. It works as it should and is easy to setup and operate. When you insert the first can, if it does not spray, there is a cable adjustment by the trigger that needs to be set so the can sprays. It looks like an adjustment for brakes on a bicycle. The lines are sharp and 4 inches wide (can set all the way up) as long as there is no wind. Even in a light breeze, the stripe was very good. You need to walk VERY SLOWLY to get the stripes down in one pass. I ended up doing two passes after realizing the need to go SLOWLY.Use a chalk line to guide you!!! This keeps the lines straight.I was able to paint about 100' feet of line with one can. Not saying you will get the same results, but it was good enough for me.Would definitely buy again.BTW, the case of paint (6 cans) was cheapest at Home Depot.

Does the job
We used to rent one of these after sealcoating our church parking lot. All of the rental centers in our area stopped renting them out. We tried doing some lines with homemade cardboard stencils, but it was very time consuming.Out of the box, I had to adjust the cable. It wouldn't spray paint with the factory setup. It works like a bicycle brake or gear cable. The fine tuning adjustment wasn't enough, so I had to loosen the nut and tighten the cable quite a bit to get it to work, but that only took 5 minutes. It does the job. I think it will last forever, it seems to be very sturdy steel construction. Easily compatible with the Rustoleum inverted spray cans, they just pop in and out, and are held securely in place. If you make a starter line of some kind, either with a chalkline, or using fishing line and two weights like I did, it's not hard to do good straight lines. I had no trouble with a little math even doing angled hash marks, etc.My only complaint is that when it's adjusted high enough to get full width lines (about halfway up), the lines come out a bit fuzzy at the edges. I guess the only way to cure that would be to put wide tape to mask it, which kind of defeats the purpose of saving time. Maybe some sort of guard could be on there to redirect paint, but I'm afraid that would collect paint and start to drip.I'm a perfectionist, and had to accept that the lines weren't going to have crisp edges like something I'd paint indoors. It is after all, just a parking lot, which is going to get driven on, snowplowed, have mudpuddles, etc., and from the street it looked perfect.

Efficient Easy-toUse Striper
Having never used a striper before, I didn't know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised by how easy this machine was to use. The box arrived in good condition and the striper is easy to assemble. Pull it out of the box, unfold the handle and tighten the wing nut. It is then ready to use. There are two smaller bolts that you can also tighten to fix the handle at a fixed angle but they are not necessary. The machine works by pulling a trigger in the handle which is connected to a cable which pulls a metal piece in the body of the striper. The metal piece presses up on the spray can nozzle to release the paint. The platform adjusts up and down to regulate the width of the stripe. I pulled it all the way up and got a wide stripe for marking a parking area.I marked for diagonal parking by creating spaces 12 feet apart and marking the stripes at a 45 degree angle. I laid a chalk line for each stripe. With no experience, I was able to measure, mark, and spray 12 lines for 11 parking spaces in 90 minutes. The time consuming part was measuring the spaces and laying the chalk lines.Spraying was easy. There is a little guide in the front of the striper. As you're pushing the striper, align the guide with your chalk line. Your speed will determine the thickness of the paint. If you pause, you may find that the paint doesn't spray again when you pull the trigger. If this happens, give the spray paint can a small twist because the can's nozzle may not be aligned properly after pausing. One spray can will handle about eight lines. After completing the striping, peaople were walking on it within 30 minutes but didn't leave footprints. It started raining about four hours after painting but there was no problem.
