Favorite one so far.
I have the HP25, HL55, HL60R, and now this one. I like all those 3, and all 3 still work, but this one is my first pick due to the flood light which I had on the HP25 but that uses 4 AA batteries (2013 model). I'd buy any one of them again. The 4 blue led battery indicator on the top is handy.Edit: Going to nerd out a little more between a few of the lamps. The HL55 : is great. One light, perfect flood, great transition to the hot spot with some throw. The lens is probably my all time favorite Fenix has made. Great low light mode up to high. Differentiators with this would be: not rechargeable from the case, pro is turning it on is one quick button press (you don't need to hold), and the ability to adjust the headlamp both up AND down (I'm currently using this one on my mountain bike helmet with the mount available. Also notable is the "turbo" mode has a 30 second boost in contrast with the "turbo" mode on the other models (which also turn off after hitting it's temperature limit).HL60R : Same as the HL55...but rechargeable via usb from the case. Same in my opinion perfect lens as the HL55. A pro or con would be this light turns on with a longer press instead of the quick press. Plus is that this light has a battery capacity indicator showing you how much juice is left. Another plus is the red low light led's. Perfect for dark situations where you don't want your to re-adapt from brighter or white light.HM65R : Love the flood when it's needed. Very close to 100% consistent lighting. Spot works very well. Both on and you basically have the lens of the HL60R. The band on this lamp is a little nicer than the 55 or 60R. Battery indicator via 4 small blue leds is also great. Seemingly very long or improved battery life with more control over the output (flood, spotlight, and levels of each). Only thing I'd maybe like to see is either a moonlight mode for flood and/or adding a red led like the HL60R.I think that's about all that comes to mind for now. Will update if anything changes.

Brightest Headlamp I’ve Ever Owned
This headlamp is so bright. The first one i bought as a gift for my husband from a jewelry store that sold Fenix.I was so impressed with the amount of lumens and the fact that they will replace the band if it ever breaks sold me. My husband and I absolutely LOVE the fact that it is rechargeable. No more packing extra batteries or hoping we have enough in a stand.I love the different settings. And we fought over it so much, I decided it was time to buy another one. The power, battery life and flexibility of this headlamp is hands down superior than any other headlamp we have both used. We intended to use it for hunting but have found that it has become almost an essential part of our everyday lives. It lives in my husbands car and he finds himself needing it on the construction sites. I have used mine to help find some lost car keys in the dark for my neighbor. Don’t hesitate. You will love it too. This isn’t a cheap headlamp, but well worth the investment! It’s quality.

Best headlamp I’ve ever owned?
Have been buying headlamps for a while; back to the petzl zoom lamps with the big MN1203 battery of the early 90s. Generally though, I’ve been disappointed by the quality of petzl and black diamond for ?20years . Princeton tec did alot better. I’ve managed not to break most of theirs. This torch seems better yet. The build appears nearly indestructible. Have only had it 6 months and have beat it up a fair amount. I think this one has the potential to be the best I’ve had. Will see in 5 years or so if it’s still kicking. Can swap in other high capacity batteries for longer run life if desired.

Best headlight I ever had... by far.
Having poor eyesight, I find myself carrying this headlight with me everywhere I go, even working around the house. This is the second one of this model that I bought (it is for my wife), and I plan on buying yet another one for spare. The efficacy (efficiency) of this headlight allows me to work in poorly lit areas all day and still have battery power left over for a couple more days, using the low or medium power beam. It is really nice to have the higher power settings at times, but it is rare that I need to use them. The highest setting is usually way more than necessary. Also, I can uses the same type of USB charger as my cell phone. I have never ran the battery dead, because I usually recharge it about every 3 days. I no longer feel the need to stock massive amounts of AAA batteries that my old headlights needed. Another thing I like is; when I swivel the headlight into a position that I like, there is a firm click (detent), and it stays there (unlike other headlights I have). I have tried other headlights and they just don't measure-up to this one. If it gets anywhere near 280 hours on low flood (spec.), it will be great for a grid-down scenario. I really have nothing negative to say about this headlight.
