Pestemal primarily used as hammam towel in Anatolia. Sultans of the Ottoman dynasty were also wearing pestemal in the hammam. Pestemal is a handicraft. Throughout history this Turkish towel was produced by weaving on hand looms by women in Turkey's eastern Black Sea and Aegean regions. Our products are not factory-made. All the pestemals are produced by traditional methods in a respectful manner to its origin, woven on hand looms and vegetable dye is used.

Not as absorbent as my other Pestemal towels.
I like the towels and they serve their purpose well enough. They are not as absorbent or as strong as my other Pestemal towels. I have washed them a few times to soften them and over time I am sure they will become softer but as far as absorbancy they do not rate as high as other Pestemal towels I have received from this same vendor. I still rate them a 4 but not quite a 5.

Not soft enough.
Not as soft as I had hoped. My sister has some that I love so I guess I have to spend a little more to get what she has.
