very nice mini cleaver.
it is very sturdy and durable and exudes quality. it is fairly sharp. i use this successfully to slice off flakes from tobacco plugs. it is a small knife but works perfectly for me in that application. i could think if better wilderness survival knives than this one but if you need a cleaver out in the wilds, unless you want to carry a full size one, this one will do the trick.

Small, but good.
I bought this after reading, and watching enough stuff to know what I was getting. I'm a big guy, big hands, so I was hesitant knowing it's small. Well, I can say it will work for me......on my fishing boat. Yeah, you could use it in your kitchen, but it's not really that practical. I'll use it for bait, and chopping, as this has a bit of weight to it. The edge was sharp out of the sheath. That sheath isn't worth a hoot, but great for longterm storage. I would find something else if you plan on pulling out this little clever much. For me, not an issue. It will be out all day, until washed, and put away until the next trip. This clever has obviously a bottom blade, with a front scraper. It's not sharp, but will scrap stuff out, or off if needed. Would I buy again......nah. I just wanted one, not needed one. Hope this helps you decide one way or the other. Last bit of info, it's made in China. That's how it's affordable.

Great camp or EDC fixed blade cleaver.
Gerber really got it right with this small, fixed blade cleaver. It’s a fantastic option for camping and can easily be used as an EDC knife of fixed blades are your thing. I’ve used it to prep some ribs and a few other things around the kitchen and I can say I’m pretty impressed. The black coating keeps the blade free from rust and the overall aesthetics of the knife are great. The 7Cr17MoV steel came sharp out of the box and is holding up well. It’s a reliable budget steel that holds up really well for the price and it won’t break your heart if you chip it or have to sharpen it. Blade stock is full tang, weighty and fairly thick. Aluminum handle has great texture and is easy to grip when wet. The sheath is well built, simple and has a sturdy thumb release. Belt loop is a decent size and it sits flush to the body when on a belt. For under $40 it’s a great addition to anyone’s camp, truck, kitchen or EDC gear. I highly recommend it.

Great knife bad holster
Knife is great, I use it to chop a lot of things. It's tiny, precise, sharp and well weighted for me. The only part I don't like is the sheath. Hard plastic with a button like system to remove the knife which took longer than it should have to figure out. Not good for the belt as its an oversized chunk of very rigid plastic. Too big for the pocket not good for the belt.

Very well made. Beautiful scales.
The pictures online don't do it justice. It's a beautiful piece in person. It's well done in it's entirety. I was surprised at how much better the green scales looked in person. Well worth the price. Even the sheath is well done. It is a shorter handle, 3 fingers for me, but there are definitely several roles it could fill easily.

Nice little Food Prep tool.
If you are looking for a Cleaver, look elsewhere. This is NOT a Cleaver. It's really more of a nice little rolling chopper/cutter. Half way between a knife and a Cleaver. The cutting edge is actually curved, not straight. Pay careful attention to its size in the photos. It's about half the size of a traditional cleaver. However it is about as heavy. The handle could be just a tad longer, but when you hold it like a french knife, it fits perfectly even in my gigantic man-hands! The blade itself is wonderlicious however the Sheath (if it can be called that) does leave something to be desired. It's a Kydex contraption with removeable and relocatable screws. You can mount the "Belt attachment" a number of different ways so that it hangs down a tad lower, or sideways, or even upside down. Unfortunately, the Belt attachment is way too wide and does not curve. So you will feel it. The knife is retained in the sheath by a VERY heavy Kydex lever stop which makes it rattle free and has a VERY positive lock.

Gerber made something tasty I can truly, Love!!!
Been looking for a good camp site food prep knife. Gerber got the mark with this one!! Been eyeing it since it came out, price and availability on amazon, made me say F$@& It. This thing is great! Can not be happier. Love the clicking sheathe, and ability to switch to scout carry. But I really love the way this thing can process some protein!! So sharp, easy to use, great weight, great ergo’s even with the tiny looking handle. I bet it could chop through wood, be used to baton, all the heavier duty wood uses. But all I’ve used it for is for food prep and can not be more ecstatic! Would buy again!

Not very practical but still a solid well built little knife as expected from Gerber. The sheath is a little awkward to use but then again so the knife.

Well made, tough little cleaver. This makes a great little camping knife for around the fireside or trailer. You can whittle or craft with it but also pair food. The sheath is attractive and wears very comfortably on a good belt. It is smaller than it appears in the advertisement. A powerful tool, given its diminutive size!
