It testes out good, but my application is difficult
Bought two, tried to get one of them to run a 12VDC RV vent fan. The fan was 12VDC @ 1.75A full speed. So the fan is well within the controller specs. My RV fans are ON-OFF (and they still are...), and I wanted to slow the speed down in the evening or at night so they are not so loud. These are only a 4 wire connection, straightforward. Battery power, ground, fan power, ground. Well, the fan is ON regardless of what the speed pot is set at, even OFF does not turn the fan off. The Red LED does light up on the board, but the speed controller seems to pass through the power regardless. Not as expected. So I ran bench tests on both PWM controllers, and I found they do in fact function. Here's my issue. The makers of my camper decided that running two individual wire from the fan and powered vent down to the switch panel was too much effort, so they made the grounds common (one white wire). This is a problem for the PWM controller, the grounds cannot be common from supply voltage and the load (fan motor). To make this work I will have to drop the fan assembly, and snake a dedicated fan ground wire down to the panel for the PWM controller. Then I will have my 12.6V DC power at the panel, and also two wire for the fan , and no common ground. This makes for a tough decision, as one of my fans is routed through an outer wall, and surrounded by poly insulation. I don't think snaking is possible. I hate to spend hundreds on remote fans.

LED dimming
This little unit worked PERFECTLY for dimming a LED. I needed to dim a 3v led on a wall clock, and not only did it work perfectly, but the turning knob looked Very Classy.Worth Every Penny!

Worked out well for me
Worked out well for me. There was no more Flickr in the LED strip after I installed this dimmer.

Does What it Claims
As a low cost controller for a motor device such as a fan, it does what it claims. That is, control the DC voltage in to the fan. The instructions for use on the Amazon page for it are clear and easy to use.

Well enough
Its a fan control. It does work, but wondering why I bothered with variable speed since I only use it at 100%. I scoped it, wave form is a little messy and it truly only goes to 95% or so, still switches fully on. Full range is about 40% to 95%. Hard to complain at $5. If I'd cared about precision, I would have used a custom PWM driver.

Makes a nice LED dimmer
Bought a LED lamp that runs off a USB port. But the lamp only has three fixed brightness levels. The Motor Speed Controller works fine at 5V and the light only draws 1A at full brightness. I modified my controller to remove the switch from the included potentiometer. So now turning the knob only affects the brightness of the lamp and I get the full 0 - 100% duty cycle. I have a small separate toggle switch for on/off which lets me set the brightness and leave it. Now I don't have to change the brightness setting to turn the lamp on or off. I will be buying more of these for other LED lamp projects in the future.

get what you pay for
not a bad product. and it does run. but i got this for a XD-3420 PERMANENT MAGNET DC MOTOR. as it was rated on the list for it. it does work. but when you turn it on you got to keep turning it off and on into it starts spinning. and it well turn off if you put to much preacher on it. so if your building a mini lathe with this. this is wont work. shipping was fine and it got here fast.

Perfect for adding varispeed to cassette tape deck.
Works perfectly as a DC motor voltage regulator on my Technics cassette tape deck. Clearly marked board with screw-down connections for wiring. Installed the potentiometer in the front of the cassette deck and it looks pretty natural with the other controls. This has been great for sound design. I have recorded at full tape speed, then used the voltage regulator to extremely slow down the playback speed which also shifts the pitch down smoothly without the digital aliasing that you get from a digital interface and DAW.
