Works well, good value
I needed to created some porch railing stiles with a specific sunken-bead profile to replace wood that had rotted on my porch. Two passes on the router table gave the desired effect. The painted piece is the original and the primered is the newly created piece. Be sure your wood is flat and square (use a jointer first if necessary). Otherwise, the depth of cut will vary, which affects the resulting profile. Cutting speed is acceptable. Best to make two careful passes for the cleanest cut. I used a small stainless steel brush to clean out the groove after each pass. Nice that it comes with a small case, as the tip is small and will likely break if dropped or stored loose.

A Great Bit for Roundover CNC and Router Work
This roundover bit for my CNC work is perfect for what I am doing. I’m quite pleased with the effect it gives in the hardwoods I work with and think it’d be great for your routing and CNC work, too.

Perfect CNC roundover bit, but please label the hard case.
The item arrived quickly, and as advertised. The bit is perfect for CNC roundover on multi-level surfaces where a router table cannot easily reach. Amanda Tool has tool spec files for importing into Ventric V Carve software online, so it was easy to set-up. One minor complaint… The packaging included a soft plastic sleeve with the tool name/number, but the hard plastic case within had no identification. I used a sharpie to write the info on the hard case since that’s what I, and most CNC users use for storage, and the ID stamped on the bit is almost impossible to read. I’m happy with the bit.

Worked better than expected
Usually Point Roundovers don't cut very fast, mostly because as the router big goes down to the point there is very little cutting surface. I really didn't see this issue with this 1/8" radius bit. I was able to feed fast enough so there was no burning on the birch I was making beads on. Pretty happy overall.

Perfect when doing spirals with a router.
There is an easy way to cut spirals or "ropes" with a router using a legacy device called a router crafter. Using this router bit in it, it could cut spirals in the wood. Some sanding was required but the routing work was as easy as turning a crank handle. The device will cut spirals at multiples of 15 degrees. The maximum stock size is 3x36". Amana Tool is the only one that I have found who sells these center cutting bits. The 3/16" radius will create approximately 3/8" width spirals. Of course, the point is fragile, so don't drop it! The section of wood that will have spirals can be rounded on a conventional lathe or smoothed out first with an appropriate straight router bit using the router crafter.
