Durable
I don't know if they recommend using this in a home.....but I do...I have a tiny home and I use the 50 amp and ran 2 heaters and a vacuum (Kirby). My fridge and my coffee maker (keurig) ...double portable cooking stove all at once and it never let me down.. I hate to give my weight..but I stood on it to reach for something and held my 200lb butt...it is a great unit...I'm moving now and have to sell it cuz I don't need it..sniff sniff...but I know it will be useful for someone else..I do recommend this for all your projects. Great product!

Great Price and Quality
I’m an Electrical Contractor and these are perfect for job site temp power. We have also set them up for restaurants and cafes for live music power distribution. Great quality

Worked perfectly, all outlets
No issues with any of the electrical bits! Powered a couple dozen computers easily.Did have the same issue as another reviewer where the 50a inlet twist-loc wouldn't turn at first. As it turned out, this was an issue wasn't really the box's fault at all. The cable I was using had its own weatherproofing/housing getting in the way preventing the cable from being inserted fully. I removed the flip cover from the outlet on the distribution box (4 screws) and then the cable worked fine. If I had used the recommended cable, I'm sure this wouldn't have been a problem, and it was only 30 seconds to fix.

Maybe the best thing to ever come out for job site temporary power!!!
This temporary box is the ideal thing for temporary power on a job site, especially an indoor renovation where weather isn't an issue. OSHA approved and don't have to worry about dragging a wood/uni-strut stand around, replacing broken GFI's, or or fixing busted legs on the stands. These are durable and have more than enough outlets for any application, along with a 30A twistlock for portable welder if needed. We used to spend $500 per temporary setup and had to basically replace/rebuild them after every project. I purchased 5 of these and have used them for 6 months moving job to job. If we need more I'm coming back to these.

Temp Power
As an electrical contractor I have been making temp panels for years and its always a struggle to supply enough power to everyone on the job. These arent cheap but neither is a well made temp panel. I like that they are easy to load and move around. I think they are well built and will last quite a while even with the rough workers abusing it. The one concern I have is when used as a temp panel the outlet covers are not weather proof when in use. The electrical code is very specific on outlets covers have to be labeled for EXTRA DUTY and they have to be weather proof while in use. I haven't been hit on these yet but I can see that being an issue. As for now I try and only use them on jobs that will be enclosed. Other than that they seem like a great box. I have two now and hope to have more in the future.

Box shipped with 3 of the 6 GFCIs blown.
This Southwire box gets great reviews, and at the listed price it's not a horrible deal. However if one scrolls through the smattering of 1, 2, and 3 star reviews, the common theme with most of the complaints are that 3 of the 6 125V outlets were non-functional. This was my experience as well.Unfortunately for me I bought this box for a job, and that job was delayed by several months. Which meant that by the time I unboxed the product and put it into service I was well past Amazon's warranty return period. So, knowing that I couldn't return the box, I figured that I might as well do some diagnostics and see what the problem was.It turns out that all of the failed outlets were on one leg of the 250V bus. Further poking revealed that the problem was that all of the GFCIs on that leg were burned out. You could even smell that the smoke had been let out of them at some point. What this tells me is that some time in the past the supply power had been mis-wired to supply all 250V to one leg of the system, frying all of the GFCIs on that leg. The in-line breakers wouldn't be any protection in this scenario as breakers only protect against over-amperage, not over-voltage.So I spent $150 on 3 new Southwire GFCIs, swapped them out, and now the box works just fine. The take-away here is that some of the boxes that Southwire is sending out have seen an over-voltage on one leg and are blown.Maybe these units have been returned as defective and sent back out without testing, but whatever the case, this is clearly an ongoing problem with this box and if the Amazon reviews are any indication, about 15% of purchasers will experience the same failure. Caveat emptor.

Solid with minor twist-lock problem
As some people have noted, some inlet cables don't twist (for the whole twist-lock thing). I did a lot of investigation and eventually figured out that if you simply remove the water protection cover for the inlet, that allows SS2-50 connectors to twist and lock as expected. As part of that investigation, I did open the box. The internal wiring was all neatly done and of appropriate thickness with standard components.Overall, I am pleased.
