It's a nightmare
I previously owned a ATI All-In-Wonder TV board that works with Windows 98 only. I've purchased this Happage WinTV board to use it with Win2000 or WinXP. It installs fine, but it just doesn't work well, at least not for PAL-M here in South America, which this board is supposed to support (PAL-M is pretty close to NTSC and was perfectly supported by my previous ATI board). I've tried two computers, one P4 3.0 running Win2000 and a Dell Optiflex P4D running WinXP. The problems are the same. The TV tuner doesn't retain the settings, the capture freezes, I tried their support but it just doesn't work, neither with all their attempts to solve the problem or with the latest drivers from their website. It's a true nightmare, I spent hours and hours worrying over it, and I'm happy to trash it.

It works... sort of
well I guess I cant complain too much, the thing only cost about fifty bucks. the pvr software isnt the best. I havnt been able to get it to record at 640x480. my computer should be fast enough to be able to handle it but the software doesnt give the option. the remote is nice, however with this card most of the buttos are un usable. no pausing of live tv, and bad recordiang resolution make me wish I had bought a better (more $$$) model. however if all you want to do is watch tv this card would work just fine for you, that is if you dont mind mono sound. the instalation wasnt all that easy ether. the directions were for Win 95, just to give a bit of an idea. but, if you are fairly computer literate and know what an IRQ conflict is thengo for it.

Good Value
Works on my Dell Dimension with WinXP Pro. Quality is limited to 320x240. The recording software has several bugs--don't set 2 recordings to start at the same time, even though it lets you! Be aware that the encoding is software-only, so both the card and the driver need to work in order for you to be able to record (other cards let you stream MPEG video). Oh, and don't tell the Scheduler to close WinTV when it's done recording; your file will be corrupted and unviewable. If you can get around the quirks, it's a great deal if you can get it for under $45 total cost.

WinTV card
Would rate well based on price, not perfect picture quality, but worked out great for our application, my daughter was at college with no TV. I had this shipped direct to her, she installed it and with a little coaching over the phone we had it working. Her pc is a 2.8 ghz Dell dimension 3000 W/ 512 meg ram. Works great, she loves it.

Works Perfectly for Me
I have owned one of these for 2 years now. I bought it to record shows from cable TV and it has worked flawlessly. I bought a cable splitter to split the signal between my TV and this card and there is enough signal to power both. A one hour show creates a 580 mb mpg file that I watch with Windows Media Player. A zoom level of 100% fills a 2" by 3" window that still leaves space for doing other things. I have a large hard drive, but it still starts to fill up if I don't watch and delete the shows.Commercials are easy to skip on recorded shows. When you get to a commercial segment, you just click on the scroll bar and quickly find where the show resumes.I have a slower computer than the minimum that they recommend, but it only uses about 80% of the cpus as measured by task manager when its recording a show. It uses much less if I just watch a TV program, about 30%.The card comes with nanoPEG editor that I use to cut segments from recorded shows to take to work. It is very easy to use.

Didnt work with either Win98 or Win Xp on 2 different computers
This card was a waste of money for me..I installed on 2 different computers with 2 different motherboards and they used different chipsets so that wasnt the issue and it still didnt work and actually keep two Windows OSes from running (both the drivers and the pci WinTV GO card itself).I used the drivers on cd that came with the card and in both cases with the win98 and XP and in both card the drivers messed up my OS config and I had to go in safe mode to delete the drivers and the files installed in the program files. I also had to remove the pci WinTVGo card because it wasnt allowing me to boot into Win98 or WinXP.Once I had removed the CD based drivers I thought maybe the updated drivers from their website would work, but those did the same exact thing, this piece of hardware is useless to me.I would give this a lower rater like no star, but the lowest rating I could choose was one 1 star. I do not recommend this product.. I couldnt even use it.

Good product, no pausing of live TV
This was my first TV Tuner. Scheduled recording works well for analog channels, but I could not get the IR blaster to work with my newer Motorola cable box (DCT2524), even after downloading the updates. Please note that this product will not pause live TV.

Good value
It's not HDTV and it's not Tivo, but for 50 bucks it's great value. Easy to install and reasonable picture on an old 600MHz Dell running Win 2000.
