This battery MAY drive you crazy with how long it lasts!! :)
As a Prime member, the product obviously got to the house quickly (I actually paid an extra $6.00 for one-day shipping vs. the normal 2-day free shipping.) The battery is for my daughter's Dell 3520 laptop. The original battery was on its last leg, and was only lasting about 25 minutes with a full charge. Since she just started college, she needed to use her laptop without the convenience of being able to plug it into an AC outlet all the time. I looked at the Dell website, but they wanted $65-70 for a replacement, so I thought I'd try the DTK, as the reviews were virtually 100% GREAT! I am soooooooooo glad I did!Everyone was saying to charge the battery, and then let it completely discharge a couple times in order to "condition" the battery so that it will hold its charge longer. NOTE: It doesn't come with any directions that state to do that, but I know from experience that "conditioning" a battery does seem to extend its life, so my daughter and I decided to go ahead and do that. Yesterday, she spent the night at a friend's house, so I took it upon myself to handle the first discharge (she had the laptop on the charger before she left.) When it got to 99% charged, I unplugged the laptop from the charger, and navigated to YouTube to find a long documentary that would play in order to discharge the battery without me actually having to sit there in front of the computer. The video was two hours long, and I thought for sure the battery would be almost completely discharged after the video was over. Nope! Not even close! When the video ended, the battery had only gone down about 23%, meaning that I still had 77% battery left. Remember, the computer was using only battery power for just under two hours. I couldn't believe it. So, I played the video again. Went back in when it was done...and again, it only used about 20-25% of the battery.50% battery left after playing videos for FOUR HOURS???? Unbelievable!So...I played it again....and actually was getting a little frustrated at how long it was taking for the battery to fully discharge. The darn thing was lasting wayyyyyyy too long!!! LOLOL!!! Finally, about mid-way through the 4th showing of the documentary, the battery showed at about 8%. Since I had gotten impatient, I simply plugged the charger back in to start the second full charge so we could discharge it again in order to condition the battery.CONCLUSIONI can't remember EVER having a laptop battery last this long. Granted, I wasn't running a ton of programs all at once, so perhaps it wasn't putting much stress on the battery, but geeze...to have the battery last between 6 and 7 hours while running YouTube videos seemed unbelievable!! If it's not obvious by now, yes...I would highly, highly, highly recommend this battery. And regarding the "bulge" due to the extra cells inside the battery, it actually acts as the perfect stand for the battery (raising the back of the laptop up about 1/2 inch during use.) I find myself actually preferring the design, so combining that with the super long time my daughter will be able to use the computer between charges has me convinced that this is probably one of the best deals available on Amazon!Side Note: I can't vouch for the company's customer service, as we haven't had to use them for anything. If you're reluctant to buy this battery for any reason, don't be. It's incredible!

Great replacement battery for a reasonable price.
I have a Dell Inspiron N5110 and this battery is perfect. It fits nicely and functions perfectly with over 3.5 hours of energy intensive activity like watching full length DVDs from the built in DVD drive, while going through my email, with an external cooling fan plugged into one of the USB2 slots. I'm a certified Dell laptop technician and can tell you that this is a superior product for an extremely reasonable price. It does have a "speed bump like extension that sticks down from the battery and raises the back of the laptop up by about one inch, but this does not interfere with the functionality or comfort of using the laptop in any way. If you are placing the laptop on your lap without placing a cooling tray or pad between your lap and your laptop, you're a fool. The heat buildup could cause you to burn yourself and you also run the risk of burning up your hard disk. If you actually use your head and use a cooling pad or tray on your lap, the riser will cause no discomfort. That bump is necessary because nine cells will not fit into the same space as six cells. It's better to have a battery with a riser than a battery that sticks out past the back of the laptop.

I own a Dell 15R 5010 laptop with a core i3 processor. This battery fits. It is very confusing when you read one review that says it doesn't fit and another one (right after it) that says it DOES fit. More confusing is looking at the picture for the product and seeing a battery in front of the box that looks like the one that you need, but seeing the picture of a battery on the box that is NOT the type that you need. Even MORE confusing is asking buyers which one the battery actually is (in front of the box or ON the box) and getting 2 different answers. I basically decided to buy the battery after holding off for weeks (and torturing my family members who use that laptop and had to keep it constantly plugged in) with the mindset that I might be immediately returning it, and I was okay with that. YES, THE BATTERY HAS A BUMP AND IT WILL MAKE YOUR LAPTOP SIT HIGHER. Nobody should be surprised about that based on previous reviews, and I don't think that is a good reason to take a star or two away. I took away a star for the simple reason that there is an awful lot of confusion about this product (starting with the discrepancy introduced by the product photo), and I am really inclined to think (based on reviews that cite the same model number but differing answers on the fit) that the same battery may not always ship. It's hard to imagine Dell having two different types of batteries for the same model number, but not too hard to imagine some wrong 3rd-party replacement batteries being thrown in boxes and shipped away.I can't speak to the total life of the battery because I am not the primary (or even a secondary) user, and it has been really hard for me to wean everyone off of the cord. I have told my son to let the battery run down a few times (just for conditioning purposes), but every time I look at the laptop it is plugged back in. What I do know is that it both fits and works - important to note since some batteries fit, but the computer doesn't recognize or like it. The battery messages (starting with warnings about the battery coming to the end of its usable life and weird battery icons when you plugged in the computer that let you know the old battery was not going to do you much good) all went away immediately, no messages about a rogue new battery appeared, and (from what I can gauge when I can keep it unplugged) it holds a charge for a decent amount of time.
