🌿 Stump be gone—your yard's new best friend!
Spectracide Stump remover Granules accelerates natural Stump decomposition without harming the surrounding vegetation. The easy-to-pour Granules leave no odor & require no mixing. These Granules speed The decomposition of the stump, making it porous. Once the stump has become porous, it may be easily removed or burned. Decomposition, depending on the size of the stump, may take several weeks or months. Prior to using Spectracide Stump remover Granules, freshly cut stumps should be killed with a brush Killer. This product works best when weather is warm & stumps are dry. To remove stumps, drill several 1" Holesup to 12" Deep into Stump. Then into the side of the stump, approximately 3 to 4" From the top, drill a 1" Hole slanting down to connect with the bottom of the center hole. Pour approximately 4 oz of Spectracide Stump remover Granules into each hole. Then fill with hot water to dissolve the granules. See label for complete directions. Review: Works great! Added my own trick. - I drilled 1/2” holes all around stump from the cut to the sides. Then I took an axe and hit it several dozen times. Making sure stump was soaked with water and tools away. I applied a half a bottle of the stump remover which covered it too and sides white. Two weeks I left it alone. Through good and bad weather. After two weeks I burned one stump which of course burned well as this is 50% oxygen chemically. And it burned to level ground. Had to clean bits with axe. But I can mow over now with no hits. Second stump I axed away at it. The stump had become very spongey and easy to level off to ground level. Not to mentions. Makes for a great nitrate in those who make their own black powder or model RC rockets. Review: Stumps came up easily - I followed the directions and it worked. I drilled a bunch of holes in a few small stumps then poured the bottle in them. After a few months the stumps came up fairly easy

Works great - our dispenser spilled too much tho
Extremely powerful works great but terrible dispenser method -hard to control spilling. Maybe new bottle solves this with smaller spout?

Works but takes a long time
I got this as part of the multi-step process to kill off and hasten the decomposition of a couple of pine stumps that I have recently cut in my yard. One of the stumps is smaller in diameter (about 12 inches) and the other much larger at around 24 inches. Using a 1 inch by 17-inch auger bit, I drilled several holes into the stumps. I first applied brush killer to kill the tree roots and then applied this into the holes on the stump, poured hot water into the holes and waited for progress. This does take a bit of time to work but it does seem to make the tree decay a bit faster but depending on the size of your stump it may take multiple applications. The stumps got darker in color and became a bit easier to remove in pieces but this process takes a few months and more than a couple bottles of this. On the other hand, I didn’t find that this worked any faster than using Epsom salt which is a bit cheaper alternative, which will also work accelerating decomposition. 3 stars

No Results!
As others have written here, I used it as per the instructions 7 months ago and it did absolutely nothing to the stump. I treated it several times and still nothing. I purchased a chainsaw and cut the stump to the ground and inspected the holes I drilled to apply the product. The wood in the holes I drilled showed no signs of deterioration. Looks like I drilled the holes recently and the wood was not soft like I was expecting it to be. Waste of money! I will attempt a refund from the company.

stump removal really works
We had a small stump from an old climbing vine that was right up against a concrete patio edge. Couldn't get at it with tools so tried Spectracide. Wasn't really able to drill the proper holes down into the stump (managed one or two but not very deep). Used the product inside the holes such as they were and sprinkled some over the top which was not per the instructions. It's been a week or so since and I can see a real difference in the look of the stump even with the poor application. Will keep at it and it appears that enough effect will happen to keep the stump from continuing to branch out.
