Los Angeles Times cookbook
As LA Times cookbooks go, this one was disappointing - the print is too small for me. I just wish it had been printed in a larger font.

Reprint worth having
This is a reprint of an older book. It adds to the history of the region through food and it is hard to find an original. It is a fascinating and wide glimpse into recipes submitted to or obtained by the newspaper, LA Times.

VERY, VERY SNALL PRINT.
Very small print. In some recipes not exact with measurements. Vague index to locate a specific recipe.

Finally I could throw away a bunch of yellowed, torn newspaper clippings!
If you've ever saved the LA Times food articles, then this is the book for you! California cuisine at it's finest.

Hate it!
I purchased this cookbook thinking it was like the LA Times California Cookbook, NOT. This is a very hard book to read, need a magnifying glass to read it. Do not buy it.

Make sure your eyesight is excellent before purchasing this book
Los Angeles Times Cookbook: 1,000 Recipes of Famous Pioneer Settlers Featuring Seventy-Nine Old-Time California Spanish and Mexican Dishes (Cooking in America) I purchased this cookbook because I have purchased LA Times cookbooks in the past and love the sophistication of the California Cuisine featured in their recipes. The recipes in these previous books are a great mixture of best uses for all the fresh food available year round here and local ethnic flavors that have influenced the food found in this region.I decided to purchase this cookbook because it also features recipes of early local settlers and the title contained the words Los Angeles Times. However when it arrived I found that the cookbook was a slim volume that crammed all 1,000 recipes into just 106 pages in print so tiny it cannot be read even using reading glasses! I typed a passage to measure the point size. 12 point would be regular legible text but this is 6 point! Unless you are planning on cooking with this using a magnifying glass, don't bother purchasing it!Just who did Applewood Books think would be buying this? Because it features antique recipes, I believe that answer is old people; not one of whom could possibly use this book.
