Hands down the best book on HOP written by the very best best voice on the subject. I give copies to all my safety techs.

I’ve read this book probably 20 times. Yeas he discusses the issues at the US southern border from his perspective in the preface, it’s his opinion. My opinion is different but that what’s great about living in America. It’s ok to have different opinions.The “meat” of the book is absolutely groundbreaking. Not only have I used these principles to create an award winning safety system I use them as part of my book “The 8 Habits of a Highly Effective Safety Culture”.Don’t miss out on this one if you want to change the way you view and do safety.

The updated 5 Principles really make sense and will be more effective than INPO's former 5 if your goal is to improve performance. Todd builds on his previous great books and shares some insights developed through years and hundreds of hours of interacting with others in high-consequence industries. I had only two issues: 1) stay our of politics, the preface note was inaccurate as that practice first started in 1996 and 2) take two more minutes and rewrite the last 2 pages, so you can finish strong! Great read, great information, very helpful in my work, I can apply these 5 principles today!! Thanks

Todd's ideas are challenging and in person he is a fascinating speaker. This book is good primer on his key ideas and well worth reading.. It could have benefited from better proofing to remove spelling errors and a bit more editorial control to tighten up the structure. Todd when speaking is a steam of consciousness type guy and this book has a bit of that in it.

This is an important book about the important first step of establishing a foundation of on organization’s human performance journey. Often times no time or not enough time is spent defining these future shared basic assumptions, and then the integration effort stalls or failsConklin does an exceptional job making these principles accessible to a wide audience, from newcomers to ‘safety differently’, to experienced practitioners. This book should be read by organizational leaders, safety professionals, and workers.
